The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced, senior Human Resources Business Partner as HR leader for our High Voltage Business Unit Europe with more than 3000 employees across 26 countries.
As a core member of the High Voltage Business Unit leadership team in Europe, you are accountable for the overall HR contribution and value-add to the business. In your role as HR Business Partner Europe (Director level), you translate business goals into HR priorities and ensure their effective implementation in partnership with our Centers of Expertise (CoEs) and HR Operations. You will also lead a dedicated, international team of HR Business Partners.
In this role, you partner with business leaders to define and implement the people strategy, develop and drive talent outcomes, and support business goals and initiatives by ensuring the right people capabilities and organizational effectiveness are in place. You counsel and coach business leaders, advise on appropriate solutions, and represent the business in its interactions with the CoEs and HR Operations to ensure alignment and the delivery of effective HR support. The location for this role is flexible within Europe and will be determined in subsequent stages.
How you will make an impact
- Strategy leadership: Set and implement people strategy in line with global business unit and global HR function strategy.
- Capability & Workforce Planning: Ensure people and organizational capabilities required in the mid-long term are understood and actioned. Ensure that the business positions in the short term are adequately staffed to meet or exceed the annual business targets. Interrogate HR Analytics data to understand key organizational dynamics, trends and issues and define and execute appropriate actions.
- Organizational Design & Development: Implement the operating model and optimize organization structures and principles in line with group and global rules and standards, including the Hitachi Energy Job Structure.
- Performance Management: Build a high-performance culture in the organization; Implement group and global business performance standards, KPIs, and targets to enhance business performance; Recognize and reward high performance in individuals and teams.
- Talent Management: in close collaboration with the Talent Management CoE, set and implement strategies and actions to ensure a healthy and sustainable talent structure in the organization, including recruitment, identification and succession planning on business-critical positions, diversity and inclusion.
- Change Management: Advice on change management needed to support business strategy and plan; implement necessary measures and actions to facilitate change, including communication, reorganization, performance management, motivation, recognition.
- People leadership and development: Lead and manage the European High Voltage Products HRBP team and build an effective, capable, and high performing team.
- Safety & Integrity: implement HSE and business compliance standards and regulations. Role model the Hitachi Energy and Group standards,
- Standards and governance: Ensure compliance with labor law, internal and external regulations, policies and procedures.
Your background
- Masters degree in HR related field (or Business, Engineering with relevant, lengthy HR experience).
- Minimum of 15 years’ HRBP experience, including experience in manufacturing environment ideally gained in a global, multi-national matrix environment.
- Excellent leadership and people management.
- Strong track record in change management, organizational and talent development.
- Ability to successfully navigate complexity and ambiguity.
- Initiative paired with strong communication and influencing skills.
- Highly analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility and strong team working/collaborating.
- Business fluent English required, other European languages highly valued.
