Spring Glen Fresh Foods in Ephrata, PA is now seeking a Part-Time HR Assistant; 20-25 hours per week.  We are offering great benefits, stable work shifts, and a clean/welcoming work environment.  Work where you matter! 

Human Resource Assistant is responsible for providing administrative services to the Human Resources Departments at Hanover and Spring Glen Fresh Foods.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Is aware of and complies with all GMP and OSHA requirements to perform the essential functions of the job safely.

2.    Assists the HR Departments at Hanover and Spring Glen, Spring Glen’s Leadership Team, Spring Glen’s employees, and applicants with HR issues, questions and/or concerns.

3.    Performs the weekly payroll functions -- such as maintaining the timekeeping information, processing, and submitting payroll.

4.    Maintains employee attendance records; and assists managers with employee attendance and/or disciplinary issues upon request.

5.    Processes incoming correspondence i.e., subpoenas, unemployment verifications, invoices, etc.

6.    Answers phones and provides information to callers, takes messages, or transfers calls, as necessary.

7.    Operates typical office equipment i.e., computers, printers, fax machines, photo copiers, phone systems, etc.  Schedules for repairs as needed.

8.    Greets visitors and callers, assesses the nature of their inquiries by providing assistance or directing them to the appropriate personnel.

9.    Serves on the Safety Committee as a backup to the HR Representative, records and distributes meeting minutes.

10.   Maintains personnel and medical files, safety records, and other business documents as directed.

While the duties above generally describe the job content, not all duties are performed continually or regularly (i.e., daily, weekly, etc.).  Duties performed are dependent upon the operation being supported.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three to five years’ experience performing Administrative Assistant functions
  • One to three years’ experience performing Payroll/Human Resources functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Spanish language competency preferred
