Job Duties:
- Assist with talent acquisition functions including reviewing job requisitions, evaluating applications, and maintaining information in our applicant tracking system.
- Contribute to Nebraska State Jobs marketing and social media efforts through content creation and tracking engagement metrics.
- Support the State of Nebraska’s SOS Temporary Program by scheduling and conducting interviews, completing background checks and facilitating new hire paperwork.
- Provide customer service at the State Personnel and Department of Administrative Services front desk by responding to in-person visitors, phone calls and emails and providing helpful directions.
- Complete various administrative tasks in support of the State Personnel team, such as Veterans’ Preference verification, paperwork coordination, employment verifications, and database entry.
- All other duties assigned within the scope of the classification.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: One year of coursework or training in personnel management, business administration, public administration or office/administrative or two years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong customer service background. Experience creating marketing or social media content.
Other: Regular and Reliable attendance is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of: general human resources procedures.
- Skill in providing excellent customer service; effective communication; organizing information; and working with detailed processes.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality; work independently as well as in a team environment and relate to people of varying experience and backgrounds; prioritize work and handle numerous tasks with ease and accuracy; learn applicable labor contracts, rules/regulations, policies and procedures to provide information to teammates, leaders and the general public; use various computer applications including Microsoft Office and electronic databases; and use multi-line phone system.
- Must be reliable, responsible and dependable to job obligations with a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
