About the Role:
The Houseperson plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall upkeep of a hospitality or healthcare facility. This position ensures that public and private areas are clean, orderly, and well-stocked, contributing to a positive environment for guests, patients, and staff. The Houseperson supports the housekeeping team by handling tasks such as waste removal, linen transport, and replenishing supplies, which helps maintain operational efficiency. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety and hygiene standards. Ultimately, the Houseperson helps create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere that enhances the overall experience of visitors and occupants.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of cleaning and sanitation procedures.
- Strong work ethic and reliability with a commitment to punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial roles.
- Familiarity with safety and hygiene standards in hospitality or healthcare settings.
- Basic communication skills to interact courteously with guests and staff.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and machinery safely.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials from guest rooms, public areas, and service zones.
- Transport clean linens, towels, and supplies to housekeeping carts and storage areas as needed.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining public spaces, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and stairwells.
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department promptly.
- Support housekeeping staff by preparing rooms for cleaning and restocking supplies to ensure timely room turnover.

The Houseperson uses physical stamina and attention to detail daily to ensure all areas are clean and well-maintained, which directly impacts guest satisfaction and operational flow. Sundays and Mondays - 8am to 4pm
Wednesdays and Thursdays - 3pm to 11pm
Skills Required
- Ability to push heavy carts weighing up to 200 pounds
- Ability to lift equipment and supplies, up to 100 pounds maximum
- Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand, walk continuously, and climb stairs
- Ability to communicate with guests, answer questions, and provide services
- Ability to follow safety, security, fire prevention, and company procedures
- Ability to maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- Ability to use protective equipment and report unsafe conditions or incidents
