We are seeking a highly organised, detail-driven Financial Accountant to lead the daily on-site financial operations of a luxury hotel.
In this role, you will act as the key financial lead on the ground, collaborating directly with the property General Manager and department heads, while working closely with an off-site central accounting firm and executive team. You will oversee property-level ledger management, revenue controls, inventory analytics, and local financial compliance.
Financial Control & Reporting
- Manage the on-site accounting functions, including the supervision of stock control personnel.
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, flash reports (10-day, 20-day, and month-end trading summaries), and variance analyses.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and off-site financial directors on annual budgeting, forecasting, and room revenue projections.
- Maintain bank reconciliations, perform float and petty cash audits, and manage local card processing systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, standard operating procedures, and local tax compliance (VAT/PAYE filing co-ordination).
Revenue & Guest Ledger Oversight
- Monitor daily night audit procedures, daily revenue posting, and reconciliations between Property Management Systems (PMS) and banking channels.
- Oversee accounts receivable, including ledger reconciliation, statement distribution, collections, and aged debtor reporting.
- Audit and resolve PM accounts, house accounts, and complimentary transaction allocations according to internal policy.
Procurement, Accounts Payable & Inventory
- Manage supplier accounts, perform creditor reconciliations, and handle local and international payment processing.
- Monitor gross profit margins across Food & Beverage operations, analyzing cost discrepancies to provide actionable insights to department heads.
- Oversee stock counts, operational equipment tracking, and vendor service level agreements (SLAs)
Requirements
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Software: Xero and Excel essential.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on General Ledger and high-volume financial accounting experience, ideally within the luxury hotel, resort, or broader hospitality sector.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical capabilities, uncompromising ethical standards, excellent interpersonal communication, and the ability to thrive in a confidential, high-workload environment.
- Hands-on experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) like Opera.
- Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) and inventory systems (e.g., Micros / Symphony / MyInventory) and business banking portals is a strong advantage.
Skills Required

- At least 2 years of hands-on general ledger and high-volume financial accounting experience
