We are looking for a System Engineer - Traction HV Component with strong experience in HV traction/propulsion systems for railway or rolling stock applications. The candidate will be responsible for defining, integrating, and validating HV components within the train propulsion system.
- Define and integrate HV propulsion components including Main Transformer, Surge Arresters, Vacuum Circuit Breakers, Current Collection Devices, Key Interlocking, and Earthing Systems.
- Define electrical and mechanical interfaces and coordinate with mechanical/electrical engineering teams.
- Develop technical purchase specifications and work with suppliers on product/solution development.
- Evaluate technical solutions, perform cost analysis, and recommend suitable components.
- Prepare technical documentation and support customer design approvals.
- Define and manage validation and verification activities for HV components.
- Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting on trains.
- Ensure compliance with relevant HV, propulsion, and railway standards.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience in HV component design / traction propulsion systems.
- Strong knowledge of HV electrical architecture and propulsion system components.
- Experience with Main Transformers, Surge Arresters, Vacuum Circuit Breakers, Current Collection Systems, Earthing, and Key Interlocking.
- Knowledge of technical specifications, component selection, interfaces, and validation.
- Experience in Railway / Rolling Stock / Traction systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Auxiliary Battery Systems will be an added advantage.
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Power Electronics, or equivalent.
