The CAO organization partners across Intel to ensure accurate GAAP compliant accounting, drive end to end controllership and file required financial and regulatory reports globally.
About the Role
The Hire to Retire H2R Controller is a senior leader within Corporate Accounting, reporting to the Vice President Accounting Operations. This role is responsible for end-to-end accounting, reporting and controllership for Intel’s global compensation and benefits programs, including:
- Stock Based Compensation SBC under ASC 718
- Bonus and Sabbatical program accounting under ASC 710
- Restructuring and Severance accounting under ASC 420 and ASC 712
- Health and Welfare plan accounting, reporting and regulatory filings
- Proxy support with Legal for executive compensation disclosures
- Ownership of Intel’s annual Form 11 K filings
The H2R Controller leads a team of 2 senior staff in the United States and 2 direct staff in Costa Rica, and partners with Intel’s global shared service centers. The role also supports Retirement and Health and Welfare plan compliance through Intel’s Plans Administrative Committees. You will work closely with HR Compensation and Benefits, Treasury, Retirement Investments, Legal, Corporate Planning, Accounting Policy, External Reporting and other CAO functions, as well as external auditors actuaries valuation specialists and equity service providers.

Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
- Lead a global H2R controllership team and set clear goals, priorities and performance standards
Stock Based Compensation ASC 718
- Own technical accounting from grant to settlement including valuation oversight, expense attribution, forfeiture and performance assessments and related tax effects
- Ensure accurate SBC expense, strong SOX controls and timely financial disclosures
Bonus and Sabbatical ASC 710
- Govern accrual methodologies for global bonus and sabbatical programs
- Deliver accurate accruals, reliable forecasts and insights for business and finance leaders
Restructuring and Severance ASC 420 and ASC 712
- Partner with HR and Legal on execution and related reporting
Health and Welfare Plans Administrative Committees Proxy and 11 K
- Oversee Health and Welfare plan financial reporting and regulatory filings including 11K
- Manage proxy reporting inputs with Legal including executive compensation tables and equity program metrics
Controllership Policy and SOX
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies and internal controls
- Drive global standardization and consistent application of accounting guidance
Forecasting
- Lead forecasting and scenario analysis across SBC, bonus, benefits, sabbatical and restructuring
H2R Role in CAO Transformation
The H2R Controller will be part of and lead certain workstreams that transforms how CAO accounting operations are delivered and managed which includes redesigning global operating models, standardizing processes, desktop procedures, implementing automation and workflow enhancements.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
- Ten or more years of relevant Finance or Accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP SEC reporting and Intel finance processes
- Demonstrated experience with ASC 718 420 712 and 710
- Proven leadership experience with global and matrixed teams
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification
- Experience with proxy reporting Form 11 K and Health and Welfare filings
- Experience with SAP S4 or ECC and equity administration platforms
- Experience leading large scale transformations including automation and ERP implementations
- Prior consolidation experience
- Strong communication skills and executive presence
- Ability to deliver practical solutions in dynamic environments

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $165,890.00-279,880.00 USD

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Work Model for this Role
