As a Service Logistics specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to making a positive impact on the world. Located in Hillsboro Oregon, you will join the Service Logistics team for Materials & Structural Analysis division and contribute to our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
Discover Impactful Work:We are seeking a highly organized and diligent individual to join our team as a logistics specialist on our Order Desk team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing customer orders, ensuring accuracy, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, have a strong attention to detail, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
A day in the Life:- Oversee the daily activities of team members to ensure tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
- Ensure all operational processes are followed correctly and suggest improvements where necessary.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
- Lead resources effectively to meet targets and deadlines.
- Receive and process service orders via our ERP system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify order accuracy, including product details, quantities, and delivery information.
- Communicate order status and any changes or delays to our Field Service Management proactively.
- Address inquiries, concerns, and complaints handled promptly and professionally.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of order management procedures.
- Accurately process domestic and international service orders.
- Work as a backup for manager and point of contact for field service escalations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in business administration or a related field is a plus.
- 3+ years Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role. 5+ years of experience in this role preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal abilities and a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of operational processes and best practices.
- Proven experience in order management roles using an ERP system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using order management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of industry-specific products, terminology, and processes is preferred
