Company Description: John W. Stone Oil Distributor, LLC is the local leader in dockside, mid-streaming, and offshore fueling along the Mississippi River, from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Venice, Louisiana, and into the Gulf of Mexico.
Position: Hedge Accountant
Reports To: Director of Financial Reporting
Worksite: Terrytown, Louisiana.
Work Schedule: 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Weekend rotations, on call and overtime will be required on an as needed
Essential Job Duties:
- Compute, review, and analyze daily trades against physical product cost to verify cost vs market price determining success of the trade
- Understand the products in the fund and their corresponding trades.
- Prepare/Post/Reconcile daily/monthly transactions analyzing GAAP reporting vs product trades.
- Data analysis to monitor and audit hedge funds for fraud, errors, and discrepancies
- Establish good working relationships with the Operations department and the traders
- Work closely with traders to develop investment strategies and improve various operations of the hedge fund

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and with minimal direction
- 2-5 years accounting/audit/tax experience with exposure to hedge funds or other alternative investments
