Join us as a Head of Trade Sales & Origination, CIB
- Lead a trade finance origination team to deliver against the financial targets, drive business growth strategy, and build strong client relationships that expand our Corporate & Institutional Banking franchise
- You’ll advise on structured and traditional trade products while staying accountable for delivering consistently high-quality and outcome-focused client experience that strengthens client trust
- You’ll represent the proposition with senior stakeholders while contributing to strategy and transformation as part of the management team, helping shape meaningful progress for the bank
Drive the broader team’s strategic plan and management agenda, securing fair customer outcomes and clear alignment with our purpose. We’ll look to you to shape and deliver both annual and long‑term strategies that build a best‑in‑class, customer‑focused trade sales and advisory capability. You’ll take accountability for achieving ambitious, dynamic business development targets while operating within smart and dependable risk parameters.
We'll also look to you to champion exceptional customer experiences by making sure every client receives the banking solutions that genuinely fit their needs. A huge part of this role is leading a team originating specialised products for large corporate and institutional clients, driving meaningful new business from both existing relationships and fresh opportunities.
You’ll focus on:
- Understanding client need, market dynamics, regulatory landscape and using knowledge of client financials and, cash flows, to bring innovative, efficiency-enhancing ideas
- Leading the planning of targeted strategies and specific opportunities across the corporate and institutional landscape, collaborating closely with stakeholders to drive well-coordinated and high-impact execution
- Building and maintaining strong, trust-based partnership with credit teams for effective collaboration
- Elevating team capability by making sure professional standards remain aligned with the evolving needs of the franchise and the bank
- Maintaining regular reviews to stay ahead of market themes, while partnering with product teams to shape tactical plans that bring new developments to clients and strengthen insight-led content
- Driving thought leadership inside the organisation and across industry publications as a trade leader, building client and competitor insights that empower key internal stakeholders to make better decisions
- Setting and delivering ambitious business performance objectives that balance revenue, margin, cost, and risk to strengthen outcomes across the portfolio
As our Head of Trade Sales & Origination, CIB, you’ll bring deep experience in the transaction banking business, paired with strong expertise in Trade Finance solutions. You’ll also need a proven track record working with complex multinational corporate and institutional clients, along with solid credit and operational risk acumen.
Strong working knowledge of bank and market infrastructure and a comprehensive understanding of regulation, current trends, customer drivers, competition, and pricing are essential to this role, as well.
You’ll also need:
- Strong capability in strategic thinking and business planning, with the ability to galvanise support across a complex organisation and diverse stakeholder groups
- A proven track record in leading origination teams that service top-tier and complex client needs
- The ability to problem-solve effectively, overcome obstacles, and drive meaningful and measurable results
