Alfa Laval seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to lead and develop our Trade Finance and Credit Management activities as part of Group Treasury organization. The Head of Trade Finance and Credit Management will play a critical role in promoting and optimizing global trade finance operations, managing credit risk, and supporting the company’s strategic objectives. This position reports directly to the VP, Head of Group Treasury, has four direct reports, and collaborates closely with stakeholders across the global organization as well as partners in the finance and insurance markets.
This role can be based in Stockholm, Lund or Copenhagen . Frequent visits to the headquarters in Lund are required.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies for trade finance and credit management, ensuring alignment with Alfa Laval’s overall financial and business goals, and provide high-level advice and recommendations to operational units and management.
Trade Finance Oversight: Manage all aspects of trade finance, including letters of credit, guarantees, export/import financing, working capital solutions, and negotiate agreements with banks, credit insurers, and export credit agencies.
Credit Risk Management: Secure robust credit policies, procedures, and controls; assess and monitor the creditworthiness of customers and partners to optimize credit exposure and mitigate risks.
Team & Stakeholder Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the Trade Finance and Credit Management teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement, while collaborating with business units, sales teams, and external financial institutions to support commercial objectives.
Reporting, Process Optimization & Compliance: Ensure accurate reporting and analysis of trade finance activities and credit exposures, drive process improvements and digitalization initiatives, and maintain compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
What you know
5+ years’ experience in trade finance, credit management, or treasury roles, preferably in multinational settings
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (legal competence is a plus)
Proven leadership and people management abilities
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Effective in fast-paced, international, and cross-functional environments
Skilled at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Fluent in English; Scandinavian language skills are a plus
