The Head of Total Rewards is responsible for strategic leadership and value creation of global compensation and benefit programs for both traditional and non-traditional employees worldwide. This role provides day-to-day management of global benefits and compensation team. This position manages compensation programs including base pay, incentive compensation, equity compensation, rewards and recognition, executive pay programs and compensation operations.
The Head of Total Rewards manages benefits programs including health and wellness plans, programming and initiatives, retirement plans, vendor management, onsite clinic and benefits operations. This position partners with members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), leaders across the business, HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Excellence, external consultants, functions such as finance, legal and IT to review and align the company’s total rewards strategy, gather feedback, identify critical areas of focus, define priorities and lead transformational changes that drive competitive business results and company growth.
What You Will Be Doing:
- You will direct the function’s activities in support of Company operations.
- You will direct staff through subordinate management, establishing objectives and evaluating performance. Develop team with strong management and professional competencies to support business. Direct development of budget, policies and procedures. Direct development of overall business/function direction and strategy.
- You will ensure plans are developed and budgets are in place to provide adequate staffing and resources to execute strategy. Achieve financial objectives, within framework of overall corporate objectives.
- You will build strong business relationships with leaders in related departments and throughout the Company to provide for smooth work coordination to accomplish objectives. Align and integrate cross-functional teams and provide for cross-organization and cross-functional communication, processes and system improvements. Lead directly and indirectly through a matrix-type organization.
- You will lead smooth integration of corporate standards with department processes and procedures as applicable.
- You will ensure adequate technology and systems resources are budgeted for and available to support the business.
- You will participate personally in meeting with largest/key vendors to maintain strong business relationships. Take action to ensure a quality internal/external customer experience as needed.
- You will prepare reports, presentations and other information summarizing business activities and providing strategic direction.
- You will maintain knowledge of changes and developments in the industry affecting business activities. May participate in related outside industry groups and forums.
- You will ensure ERISA compliance and compliance with state, national and regional legislation.
- You will work with functions across the company to support ongoing processes (audit, accounting, SEC disclosure, etc.).
- You will make strategic decisions based on Company goals and objectives.
- You will make final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensure effective achievement of objectives.
What You Need To Succeed:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Masters degree or equivalent preferred.
- Proven leadership skills and ability with diverse groups of people.
- Strategic thinking and planning ability to develop and execute business strategy.
- Strong leadership achievement record.
- In-depth experience with the operations, products and services in the businesses managed.
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner across multiple business units.
- Organizational, people development, performance management and change management skills.
