About the role

We are looking for a senior, hands-on leader to own and drive our global SEO, GEO, and SEA function. This is not a coordination role; the ideal candidate will set the strategy and be accountable for organic and paid search performance across markets.

This role requires driving our global SEO, GEO, and SEA function as a core demand generation engine for the business, with accountability for pipeline, revenue, and growth across markets and verticals through paid and organic means.

This position requires someone who comes with a point of view, can defend it, and drives execution. You will lead internal teams and external agencies, and be expected to bring structure, rigour, and innovation to how we operate.

Key responsibilities

Strategy and direction

  • Define and own the company's SEO, GEO, and SEA strategy – including how we approach Generative Engine Optimization (GEO/AEO) as AI-driven search evolves.
  • Translate business objectives into clear, measurable search strategies with defined KPIs, timelines, and ownership.
  • Stay ahead of algorithm changes, AI search trends (               , Perplexity, ChatGPT), and competitor movements and adjust strategy proactively.
  • Own how the brand builds authority, trust, and expertise across its digital presence
  • ensuring E-E-A-T principles are embedded across content, technical, and off-page efforts.
  • Bring a clear, opinionated point of view on where we should invest, what we should stop, and how we differentiate in search.
  • Present strategic direction and rationale clearly to leadership, and get buy-in.

Team and agency management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the internal SEO/SEA team, setting clear goals, running structured reviews, and building capability over time.
  • Own all agency relationships across geographies including India-based and international partners. Be comfortable managing across different working styles, time zones, and quality standards, and hold agencies accountable to clear briefs, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Coordinate effectively with content, design, product, and analytics teams to ensure search strategy is embedded across the organization.
  • Own the alignment between search and content ensuring what gets created is informed by search intent, GEO prompts, and what AI engines are pulling from.

Execution and optimization

  • Own on-page, off-page, and technical SEO ensuring best practices are implemented and not just recommended.
  • Plan and execute GEO/AEO initiatives to ensure brand visibility in AI-generated search results and featured snippets.
  • Manage SEA campaigns across Google Ads with direct accountability for budget, ROI, and conversion performance.
  • Drive continuous optimization through structured testing, data analysis, and iteration.

Reporting and insights

  • Design and own the reporting framework including weekly performance dashboards for the team and agencies, monthly reviews for marketing leadership, and quarterly executive summaries.
  • Define attribution models and ensure consistent, accurate measurement across organic and paid channels.
  • Proactively surface insights, flag risks, and recommend actions.
  • Ensure all reporting is clear, actionable, and tied to business outcomes, not just vanity metrics.
  • Proactively define and evolve measurement frameworks and reporting structures in response to changes in technology, platforms, and industry dynamics.

Tools and technology ownership

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement the right SEO/SEA tool stack for the team covering areas like keyword research, rank tracking, technical audits, bid management, and competitor intelligence.
  • Own tool procurement, onboarding, and governance ensuring the team is using tools effectively.
  • Regularly review the tool stack against evolving needs and make changes where necessary.
  • Manage tool budgets responsibly and justify spend against outcomes.

AI integration and workflow efficiency

  • Identify opportunities to embed AI tools and workflows across the SEO/SEA function including content briefing, keyword clustering, log file analysis, ad copy generation, reporting automation, and GEO monitoring.
  • Pilot, evaluate, and roll out AI-assisted processes that meaningfully improve team output and speed; not AI for the sake of it.
  • Build a team culture that is comfortable experimenting with and adopting new AI-powered ways of working.

Learning and development

  • Own the learning agenda for the team identifying relevant training, certifications, and industry resources, and ensuring continuous upskilling as the search landscape evolves.
  • Invest equally in their own development staying current with SEO/GEO/SEA best practices, AI search developments, and emerging tools.
  • Create an environment where the team is encouraged to test, learn, and share knowledge regularly.

What we are looking for

  • 8–10 years in SEO/SEA, with at least three years in a leadership role managing both people and agencies.
  • Demonstrable experience owning search strategy end-to-end.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Ads, SEMrush or Ahrefs, and tag management platforms.
  • Familiarity with GEO/AEO concepts and the evolving AI search landscape.
  • Experience with AI tools applied to marketing workflows (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Jasper, or equivalent).
  • Sharp analytical skills – comfortable in data, but able to translate it into plain business language.
  • Strong communicator who can manage upward, across, and downward with equal confidence.
  • Someone who takes ownership and follows through.

Skills Required
