Position Overview:

Everest International (Ireland) Division, (EIID) is an Irish regulated non-life insurance company. It operates in multiples jurisdictions with branches across Europe including a Third Country Branch in the UK that is regulated by the PRA/FCA.

Similarly for Group ERM:  Work with stakeholders in other jurisdictions create alignment and synergies across our global risk function including Everest Group ERM and Everest Global Markets.

Role Purpose:

To drive the development and implementation of our risk management function across, EIID.  In this role you will implement best-practice frameworks, utilizing organizational and communication skills to influence senior colleagues across our international offices. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of the risk function, providing critical risk-based insights to support Everest’s strategic decision-making processes.

Key Accountabilities:  

  • Framework Development: Support the development, implementation, and embedding of a sophisticated risk management framework that meets CBI and PRA prudential standards.

  • ORSA: Manage the Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process, stress testing, and recovery planning to ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Central Bank.

  • Leadership & Culture: Provide leadership to the risk management team and promote the continuous enhancement of Everest’s risk culture.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and deliver the Annual Risk Plan, address regulatory developments, and support the annual business planning process. Challenge strategic initiatives to ensure risk implications are fully understood. Due to a recent restructure, oversee the management of risk across changes to business strategy, operations and structural changes in our European branches.

  • Risk Monitoring: Ensure Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and dashboards are in place to monitor risk profiles and conduct deep-dive reviews of selected risks. Monitor exposure from emerging risks.

  • Reporting: Oversee the production of risk management papers and reporting for Management, the Risk Committee, and the Board.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership and department heads to provide risk management advice, oversight, and challenge. Work with stakeholders in other jurisdictions create alignment and synergies across our global risk function including Everest Group ERM and Everest Global Markets

  • Group Liaison: Liaise with Group ERM to leverage local expertise and deploy new tools while supporting the executive team in their governance duties.

Professional Experience:

  • You must possess extensive knowledge of non-life insurance risks and a deep understanding of CBI and PRA regulatory requirements.

  • You should have a proven record of problem-solving  using analytical skills, accompanied by the ability to apply professional scepticism and influence stakeholders effectively.

  • You must excel at building collaborative relationships across the business through excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in dealing with change in an organisation would be advantageous. Additionally, this role requires a resilient, proactive individual with high ethical standards who can drive continuous improvement within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
