In this dynamic and fast growing environment we are looking for a high caliber Head of R&D Analytical - Mass Spectrometry (Thessaloniki).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, optimization, and validation of advanced analytical methods with a strong focus on GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and ICP/MS
- Design and implement mass spectrometry-based strategies for impurity identification, degradation profiling, extractables & leachables (E&L), nitrosamine and trace-level quantification
- Oversee structural elucidation of unknown compounds using MS, accurate mass measurements, and fragmentation pattern interpretation
- Ensure effective use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MS instrumentation
- Review and approve complex analytical datasets, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance
- Lead and mentor a team of scientists in advanced MS techniques and data interpretation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with formulation, and regulatory teams
- Act as a scientific subject matter expert (SME) during audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions
- Manage multiple high-complexity projects, ensuring delivery within timelines and quality standards
- Lead investigations related to OOS/OOT results, deviations, and root cause analysis using MS data
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field (MSc/PhD strongly preferred)
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical R&D with extensive MS experience
- Hands-on experience with advanced MS systems
- Strong knowledge of fragmentation mechanisms and spectral interpretation
- Experience with software tools for MS data processing and interpretation
- Solid understanding of ICH, GMP, and regulatory expectations for analytical data
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience is an asset
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in Greek and English
