You will provide leadership and direction on Quality to the aligned business in line with the defined business strategy, enabling the business to achieve its goals, enhance its reputation and deliver customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities
Provide leadership on the development & deployment of the Quality strategy to enable aligned business area to achieve its goals, enhance its reputation and deliver customer satisfaction
Develop the people capability (skills & knowledge) and culture of reporting team as well as employees in the aligned business to ensure process compliance and meet regulatory, customer and business requirements
Lead on the systems of governance including metrics and Key Performance Indicators within the aligned business to maximise efficiency and effectiveness in meeting requirements, business goals and enhancing its reputation. Where Quality performance diverges from target, drive and coach the business on how to recover
Ensure relevant law / regulation, customer requirements and business strategy are understood; to agree the compliance strategy and ensure the effective implementation and deployment of this into the Operating System and/or Suppliers. Where applicable, to fulfil a specific role as defined by applicable law / regulation and / or to manage the interface with a regulatory body
Partner with the risk owners, provide proactive assurance for the aligned business area that regulatory, business and customer requirements will be met through an assurance strategy targeted at risks and associated controls
Drive change to the Operating System, Management System and/or Supplier Quality Management Systems Requirements to mitigate risks, maximise effectiveness and eliminate cost / waste through insight obtained from proactive assurance and problem themes and analysis.
Protect the business and customer through coaching on how to manage high impacting and complex problems to reduce the impact and to ensure the necessary corrective and preventative actions are completed and verified in a timely manner. Where applicable, support and manage Internal and External Customer Interfaces to ensure World Class Customer satisfaction
Enable the aligned business to achieve Right First Time through the coaching and application of defect prevention methodologies, reducing the risks from technical, human and organisational factors to our products
(Supplier/Delivery/Design Partner Facing) Provide Quality leadership to drive supplier maturity and improvement to deliver performance that enables the business to achieve its goals and enhance its reputation. To also ensure Quality input to the assessment of prospective suppliers for suitability, fit and capability in respect to the commodity / sourcing strategy
Discharge leadership accountabilities into the various internal business areas to ensure Quality is achieved to enable engineered product, manufactured product and in-service supporting activities
Key Experiences and Qualifications
Professionally qualified with relevant experience in Quality and Defence/Nuclear Industry (CQI Chartership or other Quality diploma)
Experience of delivering high value major capital projects through full project lifecycle, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC)of new facilities.
Ideally have experience in both client and major subcontract organisations
Well-developed customer and relationship management skills to work as part of the Business Leadership team, and with other internal and external Stakeholders and Industry bodies
Knowledge of problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies
Ability to influence strategy and assess the related Quality implications in a challenging operational environment
Experience of leading teams, influencing and building relationships at different levels
An understanding of a positive safety and Nuclear safety culture and of its promotion
Competent on all relevant International/Industry standards, such as Part 21/145/AS9100/ISO9001
