Job DescriptionTo provide strategic direction to Country Leadership on all People & Culture (P&C) requirements. Develop and align the P&C strategy for the country, to the Group P&C and Group Business Segments strategies. Accountable for leading, defining and managing the Country People & Culture strategy and the delivery of people & culture services, policies, and programs across the business. Act as an active member of the Country Executive team.

- 3-4 years working experience in People and Culture with experience across the P&C employee value chain.
- 5-7 years working as a P&C Business partner to business leadership across the geography, including multiple portfolios and locations.

Essential Functions
- Drive the People & Culture (P&C) strategy to align with Business Segment and Group Function strategies and support the Bank’s business objectives. Translate the P&C strategy for Country in a People Plan as agreed with the Chief Executive (CE), and Regional P&C Head.
- Champion the transformation of organisational culture and upholding the highest ethical standards to reflect the Bank’s values and strategic goals. Support Leaders to adopt the wider Standard Bank Group (SBG) Habits Framework.
- Lead as a key People & Culture advisor to the CE, Country Exco and Board, by acting as a steward, role model and catalyst for the P&C change agenda to ensure that good change management principles are applied across the Country that will ultimately lead to higher productivity and performance.
- Partner with the CE, Country Exco team and Board, to shape and influence the Talent agenda, ensuring alignment with the Country's long term strategic imperatives which needs to include a comprehensive acquisition, succession, development and retention plan to ensure a healthy pipeline of talent.
- Build strong relationships with the relevant BU Leadership teams, management and employees to enhance and maintain the credibility of P&C. and Support the country Leadership and employees any transformational changes, especially in digitization, regulatory changes, or shifts in business priorities.
- Manage the P&C function in country according to SBG's leadership principles, Habits Framework and values, including managing the employee life cycle from Talent Acquisition through to Exit, Succession Planning and Development, Performance management, Learning, Employee Relations, Reward and Recognition and P&C Operations Management.to ensure a high-performance culture. This will involve using ether direct resources or indirect resources leveraged from other countries or Group Domain.
