Position
The Head of Operations will hold overall responsibility for business operations ensuring seamless integration with the company’s scientific focus. This role includes oversight for research operations, project planning, finance, legal, and BD. Collaborating across the organization, the Head of Operations will be responsible for transforming the overarching vision into tactical plans to realize the corporation’s goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Player/Coach, ready to personally take on core tasks while also cultivating teams and expanding the company.
- Manage NewLimit’s non-scientific functions on a daily basis, including research operations, facilities, legal, finance, HR/recruiting, and BD/partnerships.
- Recruit, cultivate, and retain exceptional talent across the company, and ensure a superior employee experience.
- Deliver regular updates and presentations in various company forums, including company-wide and Board of Directors meetings.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to establish budgets and targets (OKRs) for the organization, and ensure teams meet these goals.
Requirements
- Experience owning and delivering on a company-level goal.
- Experience managing a team and recruiting top talent.
- The ideal candidate will have achieved at least one of the following:
- Built multi-year budget models for a research & development organization from the ground up
- Led the development of a business partnership for an early-stage company
- Managed facilities and lab operations for a research and development company
- Managed logistics and factory operations for a manufacturing company
- Significantly increased the throughput of an R&D process by introducing automation or engineering improvements
- Led the recruitment of senior technical talent
Nice to haves
- Past experience contributing to drug development programs in either a research, clinical development, or business development capacity
- Experience managing large budgets and producing multi-year forecasts for research or manufacturing operations
- Experience creating or acquiring intellectual property in the life sciences industry
- Experience automating life sciences research or manufacturing processes
