Fora is the modern travel agency powering the next generation of travel entrepreneurs. To date, we’ve given our advisors the access, resources and technology they need to plan and book travel around the world.
However, booking more complicated trips can still be challenging. As Head of Operations, Tour Operations, you will oversee the operational strategy and execution of Fora’s Tour Operations verticals, designed to 10x the efficiency of Fora’s advisors. You’ll play a critical role on a team that designs, launches, and optimizes new destination-specific businesses from the ground up — effectively operating as the COO of a “startup within a startup.”
Reporting to the General Manager, Tour Operations, this is a highly visible opportunity to design and launch a unique service offering from the ground up, by owning analyses, building operations, and driving cross‑functional projects that unlock new revenue streams and operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Problem‑Solving – Partner with the GM to validate business cases and MVP strategies for new business lines.
- Project Management – Manage the roadmap and operating model for Fora’s Tour Operations businesses, partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Operational Excellence – Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable processes, KPIs, and dashboards across sales, operations, and fulfillment.
- Sales Strategy & Revenue Operations – Own forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting across Tour Operations brands, driving accountability and performance through clear metrics. Lead process enablement — building training, playbooks, and tools to improve sales conversion and operational speed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, testing and iterating to deliver better outcomes for advisors and travelers.
- Experience: 8-12 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a top‑tier management consulting firm, investment bank, or structured general‑management/rotational program (e.g., Amazon, Uber, DoorDash).
- Analytical Rigor: Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and SQL; comfort building financial and operational models from scratch.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self‑starter who thrives in ambiguity, biases toward action, and relentlessly seeks improvement. You’re just as good at building strategy as you are at rolling up your sleeves and executing with clear goals, speed, and accountability.
- Bias for Action: Willing to get in the weeds with a “no task is too small” mindset to book travel and deliver an exceptional customer experience. You own outcomes, drive towards results, and believe that “launched” doesn’t mean “finished.”
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills with the ability to distill complex analyses into executive‑ready insights.
- Project & Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of leading cross‑functional initiatives on aggressive timelines.
- Test, Learn, and Adapt Mindset: Eager to continue to iterate and operate post-launch to drive more efficiency and better business results.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Passion for Travel & Technology: Genuine interest in redefining the travel industry and building with AI‑driven tools.
- Startup or high‑growth operating experience is a strong plus.
- MBA or other advanced degree.
Compensation for this role varies based on experience, with an indicative range of $160K–$180k + bonus + equity. Final compensation will depend on the level at which the candidate is hired, as we’re considering multiple levels for this role.
