Job Title: Head of Operations and Business Transformation – Traded

Position Overview:
The Head of Operations and Business Transformation - Traded is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end operational support, driving process improvements, and implementing transformational change within Hiscox US traded insurance business. This role is designed to support distribution and UW teams in designing effective systems and processes that align to the business strategy and desired outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of traditionally traded insurance operations, strong expertise in modern technology integration, and a track record of driving operational excellence and transformational change initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide operational leadership for traded broker and underwriting support needs, ensuring seamless delivery of core processes and systems and end-to-end design of our employee and trading partners’ underwriting and service experience.

Act as the business owner for core systems and processes, including rating engines, policy administration platforms, UW workbench, portals, and other technologies that support the submission, quote, bind, and servicing journeys of our underwriters and trading partners.

Develop and implement a comprehensive operational strategy that enhances process efficiency, reduces cycle times, and improves service quality.

Direct the utilization of third-party vendors supporting front and back-office work to provide desired experience and outcomes.

Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service levels; monitor operational effectiveness and address gaps in service delivery.

Build and implement a strategic roadmap for business transformation in collaboration with business and IT leadership. Lead the design and delivery of change from ideation to implementation and monitoring.

Leverage new technologies, design thinking, and process excellence methodologies to improve end-to-end processes, optimizing user experience, efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of broker and underwriting operations.

Collaborate with product, underwriting and broker teams for effective handling of complex endorsements and other UW operations support needs, driving consistency and operational excellence.

Oversee User Acceptance (UA) testing for new systems and processes, ensuring robust testing protocols and successful implementations.

Conduct impact assessments and readiness evaluations for business units, ensuring teams are equipped for successful change adoption.

Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on matters related to broker and underwriting operational strategy, systems optimization, and process improvement.

Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Support Product Governance to ensure product changes and enhancements are designed, controlled, reported and aggregated in coordination with Pricing, and the CUO
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Insurance, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 10 -12 years of experience in insurance operations, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.

Strong experience in broker and underwriting operations within a traded insurance environment.

Proven track record of driving large-scale transformation and change management initiatives.

Extensive knowledge of rating engines, policy administration systems, and other core insurance technologies.

Expertise in process optimization, RPA, and digital transformation within complex operational environments.

Strong project management and strategic planning skills, with a focus on operational delivery and continuous improvement.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment across diverse groups.

**Please note that this position is hybrid and requires two (2) days in our Atlanta (Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area) or Hartford, CT office weekly**
Salary Range: 230-260k
