Team Overview:
Marine will play an important part of Everest expansion in Italy, as a key portfolio for our growth ambition. Our Head of Marine will be reporting directly to the Branch Manager. He/She is managing underwriters, developing the team as the business grows.
Role Purpose:

Our Head of Marine will be responsible for the growth agenda as well as the profitability of the line of business. Connected with the local brokers, he/she will provide our corporate clients with Marine solutions.
Key Accountabilities:

Expand and build broker relationships and other sources of distribution, and developing new relationships, where this is consistent with the objectives set in the Business Plan

Expanding the current product range to allow Everest to compete with the market leaders in the sector.

Develop business through execution of new ideas in addition to utilising all the available Everest resources to grow, develop and maintain a profitable book of Marine business.

Procuring business from Italian market brokers, both existing and those whom EIID does not currently trade.

To liaise with the Claims Manager on claims related issues and participate in account and management reviews.

To participate in the underwriting peer review process at the weekly and monthly underwriting meetings, as required

To assist with the completion and review of strategic and underwriting guidelines & pricing models.

To contribute to the regular analysis and review of underwriting practices and procedures

To assist in the improvement of the management information systems, rating models, underwriting manuals, service standards, marketing materials, website and risk management and claims functions

Ensure that documentation is completed timely and accurately according to EIID standards.

Effectively communicate with management on all issues both within and outside the Unit as needed.

Marketing Everest Italy through contributing to articles and representing Everest at conferences as speaker or panel member.

Collaborate with Everest colleagues in the International office locations, as well as in the United States

To monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation and compliance
Professional Experience:

Good understanding of Marine business in the Italian insurance marketplace

In-depth knowledge and experience of Underwriting Marine products

Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations

Minimum 15 years of experience

Law/Insurance/Business school certificate
