The Managed Solutions business at Bank of Singapore covers the sourcing, due diligence, selection, advisory, marketing and post-sales lifecycle management of mutual funds, hedge funds, private markets, as well as discretionary and advisory portfolio management.
The Managed Solutions Advisory (MSA) team is responsible for the investment advisory and distribution and post-sales monitoring of in-house and third party, professionally managed, fund investment opportunities (including alternatives investments), CIO Lab, and Discretionary Portfolio Management (“DPM”), collectively referred as “Managed Solutions Business”.
The MSA team’s role is to provide advisory and distribution for managed solutions and alternatives, partnering with solution providers in capturing unique opportunities for clients. Scope of the role covers advisory and discretionary portfolio mandates, mutual funds and alternative solutions (Hedge Funds and Private Market Funds) and services such as CIO Lab. The team performs investment advisory through managed solutions based on the Bank’s “Whole Portfolio Approach”, working within the Chief Investment Office in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
WHAT YOU DOThe main functions of the Head of MSA include leading and managing the team at BOS and contribute to increasing the penetration of MI Business amongst the bank’s clients and provide oversight for the following functions:
Advisory and Sales
To grow AUM and increase the penetration of managed solutions through marketing and advice to RMs and clients. This involves maintaining strong collaboration with Relationship Managers/Investment Advisors.
Be a liaison between the Fund Selection, APM and DPM teams and Front Office, articulating investment philosophy, process, performance, positioning and market outlook, as well as proactively identifying opportunities or client interest
Conduct fund, APM and DPM review meetings with clients, and undertake group sales meetings with RMs from designated markets to provide them with focus ideas and updates
Align the recommendation of funds to the BOS’s overall asset allocation models to achieve outperformance versus appropriate benchmarks
Participate in advisory team meetings with the Fund Selection and Alternative Investment teams to help brainstorm new ideas and funds that should be prioritized for onboarding
Demonstrate effective collaboration with CIO Investment Institute, Funds Selection, Alternatives Investment, Investment Advisors and Front Office as well as other BOS/OCBC/GE departments.
Support growth in DPM services in partnership with DPM portfolio management and Client PM teams to drive increased mandate penetration Bank-wide.
Data Analytics and AI tools
Using data analytics and AI tools to analyse business data and trends for planning and strategic initiatives
Platform / Client Experience
Participate and lead strategic projects to deliver improved client experience.
External Fund Houses
Together with Funds Selection and Alternative Investments, facilitate interactions with fund houses in relation to fund launches, after sales and coordination.
Strong investments background, with solid knowledge of funds and DPM across global equities, fixed income and alternative asset classes as well as asset allocation and portfolio approaches.
Preferable work experience in asset management/Private Bank as a team lead
At least 10 years of fund distribution/investments experience with proven track record
Experience with and keen interest in digital and AI projects and digital solutions
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to project a high level of professionalism, and effectively communicate with clients, portfolio managers and management in small and large settings.

Good, relevant undergraduate degree
CFA holder &/or Master's degree in Finance from reputable university is strongly preferred
Good command of 2nd language preferred
