This isn't a role you'll inherit, it's one you'll build. You'll design the legal function from the ground up: commercial contracting, GDPR and regulatory direction, and corporate and strategic legal support, with the autonomy to shape how it all works and the mandate to grow it into a team over time.

What you'll bring:
- 7+ years' PQE with deep experience in SaaS or technology commercial contracting, including enterprise-level negotiation
- LLB or equivalent legal qualification
- Strong GDPR and data privacy fluency, with practical contractual and regulatory experience
- A track record of operating autonomously and making sound judgement calls without a safety net
- Comfort building process from scratch, and the judgement to know when to bring in outside expertise

Skills Required
- 7+ years PQE with deep experience in SaaS or technology commercial contracting, including enterprise-level negotiation
- Strong GDPR and data privacy fluency with practical contractual and regulatory experience
- Proven track record of operating autonomously and making sound judgement without a safety net
- Comfort and experience building legal processes, templates, and playbooks from scratch
- Judgement to engage and manage external specialist counsel when appropriate
- Experience with live M&A and investment activity (advising or supporting transactions)
- Located in or able to work hybrid in Cape Town
