Key Responsibilities:
Manager is responsible for the business of the gene therapy drug to be launched, which mainly includes but not limited to,
development and implementation of a business plan. He/she does the below independently and/or with the support/under the supervision of Director
Develop and implement a marketing plan (pre-launch):
- Analyze external environments through market research, collaboration with relevant functions, and external interactions including commercial Advisory board meetings.
- Identify key issues, barriers, and Key Success Factors.
- Build strategies and detailed tactics including an annual calendar, events, trainings and promotional materials.
- Develop and provide extensive sales trainings on diseases, product, account opening etc. in collaboration with Commercial Excellence and Medical Affairs.
- Develop and track KPIs with Commercial Excellence.
- Plan and implement pre-launch external activities including building relationship with KOLs in collaboration with Medical Affairs and Public Affairs and Communications.
- Manage projects on material development and other activities.
- Conduct necessary internal and external procedures.
- Attend to domestic and international major scientific meetings. (mostly with support of Director)
- Present the plan to Global Team, Japan Leadership Team and relevant functions.
- Forecast and manage promotional costs and production.
Develop/revise and implement the marketing plan (post-launch):
On top of the activities above
- Lead post-launch cross-functional brand meetings.
- Identify room for improvement/growth of relevant functions and figure out how to fill the gaps.
- Maintain and develop relationships with KOLs and scientific societies.
Hard skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent one
- Over five years of working experience in the pharmaceutical (or relevant) and/or consulting industries
- Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point
- Language: native/fluent in Japanese and business level or above in English for communication with global members (commitment to improving English, if needed, is a must)
- (strongly preferred) Launch experience
- Medical Science Degrees or MBA
- Experience of Sales, Marketing or Medical Affairs,
- Experience in oncology and/or gene therapy
- Experience of vendor management
- Experience in Digital Marketing/communication
- Strategic, logical and critical thinking
