About the team
The International Supergroup Group within the Growth Org exists to empower Canva to win locally at global scale. We combine global product excellence with deep local market insight to unlock growth across regions.
We operate like founders in every market, obsessing over users, acting with urgency, and partnering across Product, Marketing, Content, Education and B2B to build locally relevant strategies. We move fast, think long-term, and bring together diverse global teams to deliver measurable impact.
As we scale, regional leadership becomes critical — ensuring alignment, focus, and ambitious execution across multiple markets simultaneously.
About the role
As the executive owner of Canva’s growth strategy across LATAM, this is a high-impact leadership role accountable for delivering sustainable step-change growth across LATAM, by building a portfolio of winning markets, making every Country Manager successful, and driving execution at speed.
You are the regional GM: setting the growth vision, owning the P&L, making capital-allocation calls and serving as the two-way translator between country teams and Canva's central functions.
You are Canva's bridge between the ground and global. You champion local needs (with data) into central Product, Marketing, Content, Localisation, and Finance. You turn central resources into local wins for your CMs. When country teams can't access central capability, or when central teams don't understand what LATAM actually needs, that is your problem to solve.
Job DescriptionWhat you’ll do
Set and own the multi-year LATAM growth strategy across users, revenue, and market expansion. Own the regional P&L along with regional forecasting, budget allocation, and investment trade-offs with strong commercial discipline.
Lead, develop, and hold accountable Country Leads across Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and the wider region (frontiers). Own internal comms and be the executive escalation point for complex challenges; resolve blockers within 48 hours.
Be the two-way translator between LATAM country teams and global functions (Product, Marketing, Content, Localisation, Finance). Champion local needs with data; turn central resources into competitive advantages for your markets.
Champion localisation across product, pricing, packaging, partnerships, and messaging. Own content and marketing accountability for the region.
Represent Canva externally across LATAM: press, enterprise, government, ecosystem partnerships, and events.
Who we're looking for
We’re looking for a regional leader who combines founder mentality with executive maturity.
You've personally driven out-sided results. You can name a specific market, a strategy or pivot where things turned, and your fingerprints are on it.
You've built and led other leaders. Country GMs, regional directors, or equivalent. You know what great looks like at that level and you’ve coached people to it.
You've stabilised or turned around a market, not just grown one. You've walked into something hard: underperforming metrics, a market that needed a reset and you worked it to success systematically.
You let the data lead. Your recommendations come with numbers. You can read a P&L and make real resource calls from it. You know your unit economics.
You actually use the product. You care about craft, not just the commercial outcome. You have genuine opinions about what makes Canva great and where it could be better. You can hold a real conversation with a PM.
You get things done through influence. You're effective with global central teams, not worn down by them. You build support rather than demand it.
You have real LATAM depth. PT/ES fluency. Real customer and cultural exposure across Brazil and at least one other major LATAM market. You understand what's genuinely different about building and selling here, not just in theory.
Skills Required
- Proven track record delivering significant market growth with named example and measurable impact
- Experience building and leading senior leaders (Country GMs, regional directors) and coaching to high performance
- Experience stabilising or turning around an underperforming market
- Strong commercial discipline: ability to read a P&L, manage unit economics, budgeting and capital allocation
- Data-driven decision making with ability to present recommendations supported by numbers
- Operationally effective influencing of global central teams to secure resources and resolve blockers quickly
- Portuguese and Spanish fluency (PT/ES)
- Deep LATAM market knowledge, customer and cultural exposure across Brazil and at least one other major LATAM market
- Product familiarity and ability to engage meaningfully with PMs about product decisions
