Build key partnerships with business leaders (GM Japan and the Japan Leadership Team/Japan Executive Committee) as well as being a liaison for CSL Japan based legal entities to enable the creation and implementation of an HR operational plan that outlines the key priorities to achieve business results while aligning with CSL’s One HR imperatives.
The position holder is expected to bring forward people solutions, implement Human Resources corporate policy/practices and deliver on the day to day management people processes, programs and initiatives that drive forward business outcomes and contribute to an exceptional employee experience.
The HRBP Agile Japan Head creates and maintains an engaging work environment and role models as an HR ambassador by defining and communicating a compelling and values based work culture.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Owns the development of the HR operational plan and its delivery for the assigned client group/site in alignment with Strategic HRBP guidance and the One HR strategic imperatives.
- Responsible for and/or serves as an HR liaison, in line with the global HRBP Agile model, for HR areas including talent management, employment, employee engagement, change management, organizational design and development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, diversity and inclusion, and/or training, coaching and development, and workforce planning
- Influences and builds relationships with site leadership and/or client groups to reinforce and deliver on HR’s position as a trusted advisor to the business
- Partners with assigned client groups/site to ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objectives and proactively resolves HR and business issues and provides solutions through organizational effectiveness and employee life cycle
- Drives the implementation of corporate policy and practices related to human resources, supports organization and employee development, and resolves complex employee/team management challenges Develops succession plans and talent pipelines for the site leadership team (or client groups) in collaboration with Strategic HRBPs
- Through discussion with Global/Strategic HRBPs and COEs designs site approach to performance, DEI and culture through local programs that drive engagement and employee experience.
- Sets and drives proactive strategies for local industrial relations and collective negotiations (where applicable) in collaboration and consultation with the Regional IR Lead
- Provides employees and managers with coaching for development and insights towards development action of talent pipeline
- Delivers people processes, programs and initiatives for designated client groups/site while also delivering on and supporting the HRBP Agile model as a key member of the APAC HRBP Agile Leadership Team
- Supports customer group leaders with cyclical processes such as IPM, annual merit review, engagement surveys and subsequent action plans.
- Act as a change ambassador and facilitate workshops as required Develops and implement new concepts to solve business challenges and proactively uses data analytics to share insights and trends
- Provides expertise as an HRBP Agile team member and allocates time to build expertise in different areas of focus: talent & development, change management, industrial relations, organizational design.
- Supports or leads cross-country, cross-functional projects, transformation activities or additional initiatives as required
- Lead/support complex employee relations issues working closely with the global ER team
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in HR leadership roles preferred
- 8-10 years HR management experience, preferably in senior human resources business partnering or HR business consultant roles, working in dynamic global organizations
- Deep and broad knowledge of HR processes gained in a dynamic global organization.
- BA/BS degree, in Human Resources Management, Business, related field required
- IT skills: Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Outlook, Word, PPT
- Language: English and Japanese business proficiency (writing, speaking). Additional language from the relevant region (Asia Pacific) an advantage.
- Versed in agile organization/ways of working preferred
