Job Description

The Head of Finance and Accounting will oversee the full accounting function and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for the organization.

  • Lead and manage the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, general ledger, payroll-related accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close.
  • Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage and develop an accounting team, including direct oversight of AP, AR, staff/senior accountants, and accounting leadership.
  • Prepare and review, financial statements, variance analyses, and key financial metrics.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership, operations, project management, and global finance teams to support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee project accounting, revenue recognition, collections, and financial processes.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Lead consolidations, audit preparation, tax support, compliance reporting, and coordination with external advisors.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement scalable accounting practices to support company growth.
  • Ensure strong financial discipline across departments and provide guidance on accounting best practices.
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA strongly preferred; CPA required if needed for client/company standards.
  • 10 plus years of progressive accounting experience required.
  • Prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience required.
  • Experience managing an accounting team required.
  • Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, AP, AR, general ledger, internal controls, and audit support.
  • Project-based accounting, or global company experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, revenue recognition, job costing, and cost controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong ERP/accounting system experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Skills Required
