Atlassian is hiring a Head of Research & Employee Listening to join our People Insights team; a team of behavioral scientists, researchers, analysts, data scientists, and business partners, who use data to drive better business outcomes. The Head of Research & Employee Listening will lead our people research portfolio, global employee listening strategy, & talent intelligence. You'll partner cross-functionally with People Insights, HRBPs, Communications, and business leaders to ensure our people strategies are grounded in real employee experiences and the evolving expectations of our workforce. You will report to the Head of People Strategy.
This is a high-impact role for a research leader who thrives at the intersection of behavioral science, people analytics, and tech-driven innovation.
In this role, you will:
- Design and guide strategic programs of research for topics across the employee lifecycle including, but not limited to, employee voice and continuous listening, performance management, manager and team effectiveness, and more.
- Identify opportunities to build knowledge and techniques from behavioral science into people processes and decisions
- Design a scalable and agile employee listening and research strategy that supports a fast-growing, remote-first, and distributed workforce.
- Ongoing monitoring of the talent market in our key regions to stay ahead of trends and our talent competition
- Bring a practical but rigorous view to organizational research, with a focus on the connection to important business outcomes
- Proactively research key trends impacting talent (e.g. AI) to hypothesize the future of work at Atlassian
- Design interventions and experiments to measure and improve individual, team, and organizational outcomes
- Answer the "so what?" for data and research-driven people insights in a way that drives action
- Stay abreast of external organizational survey, measurement and research best practices, including engagement with consortia and discussions with leading assessment providers.
- Incorporate all aspects of data privacy, security and controls into the programs
- Support the growth and advancement of the Research & Employee Listening team members
- Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including: HR, Business Leaders, Technology, Communications
- Prepare executive presentations using data and insights to tell a compelling story
Minimum Qualifications / Your background:
- Deep expertise (PhD, Masters, or equivalent expertise) in a field that uses research to understand and influence human behavior (e.g., Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Behavioral Economics, Social/Personality Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, etc.)
- 8+ years experience communicating research insights and recommendations to executives, functional leaders, and managers to inform and drive action
- Experience leading research projects across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance, turnover, and/or leadership
- Experience influencing and shaping executive strategies with research and insight.
- Successful track record of influencing and inspiring organizational change through research communications.
- Experience designing, implementing, analyzing, and evaluating employee surveys and other lifecycle programs
- Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral interventions in an applied setting
- Expertise in research methods & study design (e.g., experimentation, survey design, mixed-methods, etc)
- Strong analytical thinking, and understanding of data and statistical methods
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of responsible AI, data ethics, privacy or regulatory frameworks relating to data use.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience of delivering AI implementations with measurable value for the business.
- Experience working in hybrid or remote-first tech companies.
- Working knowledge of statistical methodology used to conduct people centered research.
- Experience developing and implementing skills strategies.
- Experience with Selection & Assessment strategies for Recruiting.
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $218,700 - $285,525
Zone B: $197,100 - $257,325
Zone C: $181,800 - $237,350
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
