Sanofi’s Digital Manufacturing & Supply “Solution Engineering & Delivery” organization is responsible for creating, delivering and maintaining digital solutions which are used on Sanofi industrial sites to manage manufacturing, quality and administrative processes.
The Software Engineering & Delivery team works within this group to create products which are used daily in Sanofi manufacturing plants to provide differentiating capabilities and user experience above and beyond those provided by standard software designed for industry.
Your job? Lead people, shape strategy, champion modern engineering practices, and bring automation and agile ways of working to life — at scale.
You will be responsible for hiring and leading a best-in-class engineering & delivery team, including both full-time employees and numerous contractors. The Head will establish a culture of engineering excellence and continual learning to leverage AI and other tools to achieve substantial productivity gains — and ensure all team members adhere to those standards. Main Responsibilities
- Provide people, technical leadership and strategic guidance for several engineering teams, capable of managing up to 50 team members.
- Lead and mentor distributed teams across multiple locations, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Spearhead the development of our engineering culture and technical vision
- Assist with practices and principles to ensure adoption across teams, along with measuring and maintaining maturity.
- Oversee the development of high-performance, highly available & scalable applications with a focus on microservices and cloud-native solutions.
- Deep technical understanding of modern architectures and frameworks.
- In-depth experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement.
- A systematic problem-solving approach combined with strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and motivation.
- Collaborate with executives to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Manage vendors to ensure initiative delivery according to requirements and design.

About You
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience leading a group of engineers with multiple layers, evaluating performance, and providing objective and actionable feedback.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering high-performance, highly available & scalable applications with a micro-services architecture and a deep understanding of observability.
- Deep expertise in modern web architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Software development principles and lifecycle, development technologies / frameworks.
- Experience scaling systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolving systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
- Experience working with technical and non-technical colleagues in a cross-functional, interdisciplinary environment, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience with agile practices.
- Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and lead digital transformation initiatives
- Experience of development in GxP environments is a plus.

Technical skills
While versatility is valued, at this senior level we expect deep expertise in the following areas. You do not need to master all of these skills, but you must be able to have decisive discussions with engineers and architects.
- Java (Spring Boot), Python, Modern JS frameworks (Vue.js, React.js), JavaScript/TypeScript, Restful API, GraphQL, Node.js, Nest.js
- AWS stack components Lambda, Amplify, S3, RDS, SNS and many more of the core services.
- Cloud architecture and DevOps practices, preferably with AWS.
- Microservices architecture and API design.
- Excellent skills in leveraging coding assistant tool (approaching 10x productivity).
Education
- Degree in software engineering or computer science or equivalent experience
Language
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. French is a plus.

Skills Required
