Stuut is transforming accounts receivable for B2B companies—making collections smarter and faster for companies that have historically relied on manual processes that are labor intensive and costly. Our platform is gaining traction with finance teams across industrials, chemicals, and manufacturing sectors from Fortune 10 brands to scaling midmarkets. We're backed by top-tier investors including a16z, Khosla, Activant, 1984 Ventures and Page One.
The Role
We’re hiring a Head of Design to build and run the design function, setting the direction for the product experience, raising the bar on craft, and putting the systems and hiring plan in place to scale. Since we don't have a traditional PM org today, you’ll work directly with the head of engineering to drive product direction and prioritization.
What You’ll Do
Own the end-to-end product experience for Stuut’s AR automation platform, from core workflows to edge cases.
Define product principles, interaction patterns, and UX standards that improve clarity, trust, and usability in complex, exception-heavy workflows.
Build and maintain a design system and component library to keep the product consistent and scalable.
Partner closely with engineering to ship quickly without sacrificing quality, including setting clear quality bars and review processes.
Drive customer learning. You will spend real time with users and prospects and turn that into product direction, not just research artifacts.
Establish design operating cadence: critiques, reviews, prioritization inputs, and decision-making that helps the team move faster.
Hire and develop the design team over time, starting with foundational IC hires as needed.
Coordinate with Stuut’s external brand partner (Day Job) to ensure brand and product feel aligned.
You Might Be a Fit If You…
7–10+ years designing and shipping product in high-ownership environments.
You have led design direction before, either as a design leader or a senior IC functioning as the design head.
Strong product judgment and UX fundamentals, especially information architecture and workflow design.
Comfortable owning ambiguous problems and making tradeoffs with imperfect information.
High bar for craft, and the discipline to translate taste into repeatable systems, not one-off hero screens.
You work well with engineers. You can explain decisions, take feedback, and keep momentum without lowering standards.
You can operate as a product lead in practice, even if your title says Design.
You take big swings and have a clear point of view on agentic design
Experience building for finance, operations, or ERP-adjacent workflows where edge cases and auditability matter.
Experience designing systems that take action autonomously (agentic UX), not just assist users.
Prior experience building a design system from scratch and scaling it with a growing product surface area.
