Job Description
Get to Know the Role
As the Head of Design, you will define and own design outcomes, product quality and co-own the product strategy for the team(s) that you are managing. You will partner with Product, Design and Engineering leadership in exploring the needs of our users and the business and driving the delivery of impactful experiences that drive our mission forward. You will shape the design practice by establishing the value of people-centricity, and getting buy-in for new product ideas and initiatives.

We're looking for exceptional design leaders, with track records of growing highly autonomous and impactful teams, who can think strategically and act decisively, and who can help the team positively impact how millions of people across Southeast Asia interact with Grab.
You will report to the Head of Design. This is a hybrid role and its based in Singapore.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Define design outcomes, product quality and co-own product strategy.
- Lead design - managing Design Managers and overseeing multiple design teams, ensuring they operate cohesively and deliver high-quality work.
- Mentor and develop Design Managers, helping them advance in their careers.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and scale the overall strategic direction and growth of the organization.
- Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration within the design team.
- Propose, shape and drive initiatives that further the design organisation and its vision.
- Evangelise for and safeguard quality across the organisation - advocating for and establishing new standards of quality.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- 7+ years experience managing high performing design teams.
- An online portfolio or case studies demonstrating user-centred design and leadership.
- Exceptional understanding of user experience design for the web and mobile.
- Extensive leadership experience on cross-functional product teams.
- Experience managing User Research, Service Design, UX Writing or Design Operations.
