About the Role:Reporting to the Market President and the Global Demand Planning Director, the Japan Demand Planning Head will be instrumental as a strategic differentiator in support of Dyson’s growth and customer experience. Specifically, the role is expected to lead unbiased demand planning and sales plan sufficiency to maximize revenue of the company, at the lowest possible costs aka. Inventory optimization.
Main Accountabilities:
- Lead monthly S&OP process across Market and Region to drive consensus on 1 forecast. Bring maturity and cadence in the S&OP / IBP process, with drumbeat execution, via the ERP systems
- Build high quality Demand forecasting and drive consensus
- Develop annual budget and rolling forecast to highlight the sufficiency gap of forecast vs targets and then lead offline retail and eCommerce teams to identify business plans to fill the gap
- Lead evolving data and reporting foundation to provide measurement and insight for better decision making and gap filling plans, with a balance between long term and short term forecasting approaches.
- Work with Off-line Retail & e-Commerce teams in Bottom-Up Sell-In / Sell-Out Forecast submission and ensure the overall business performance by week & month, by channel, by SKU to be unbiased and accurate
- Partner with regional & market teams to align forecasts with market trends and promotional activities. Cross functional collaboration from various stakeholders and aligning sign-offs for forecast submissions.
- Partner with supply chain team to build a resilient supply and demand plan to maximize topline and bottom-line
- Analyze and report actual sales results vs plan and define action items to compensate the gap, utilize performance to improve the quality of the S&OP process, forecast submissions.
- Capture, consolidation and distribution of retailer sales out reporting and trade stocks
- Establish and continuously improve KPIs such as forecast accuracy, bias, drive reduction in cost of inventories, exchanges and therefore, higher customer satisfaction
- Build up effective relationship and communication with other functions primarily Offline Sales, eCommerce, Finance, SCM and Marketing
- Responsible for team members’ development and performance achievement
- Over 10 years solid experience in working in Demand planning, Supply Chain and/or Sales planning
- English / Japanese Written and verbal skills - able to communicate at all levels of the business
- Comprehensive understanding of demand forecast, retail market and supply chain
- People management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Finance, Supply chain or a related field
- Ability to interpret financial sales data to make decisions and recommendations that impact the business
- Strong Presentation skills
- Adaptable / flexible – able to multi-task
- Communication / Drive and motivation
- Strong team player (can both do team delegation and take personal task him/herself) and ability to work with cross functional partners and senior management on all aspects of the organizational and planning skills
