About the role:

We are excited to offer the opportunity to join our Asia Pacific Team as the Head of Credit & Surety, APAC to develop sustainably our Credit, Surety, and Political Risks book in Asia. This role would report directly to the Chief Executive, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific and functionally to the Global Head of Financial Risks.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Underwriting Financial Risks – markedly Credit, Surety, and Political Risks treaty business – in accordance with Everest Re underwriting and pricing guidelines.

  • Assisting with optimization of existing portfolio and allocated capacity.

  • Positioning Everest as an increasingly important player in the APAC region.

  • Designing the market and client strategy with the Regional Managers and the Global Head of Financial Risks.

  • Implementing measures to safeguard the profitability of the APAC Financial Risks portfolio.

  • Visiting markets to identify, develop and maintain the relationships with cedents and brokers.

  • Representing Everest at industry events.

  • Maintaining a close working relationship with Pricing Actuaries, Regional Managers, and Global Head of Financial Risks.

  • Working with UW Assistants and providing an efficient, high quality data entry.

  • Reviewing and approving claims with Claims Department in accordance with Claims Guidelines.

Candidate Profile

  • University degree in a relevant subject or a comparable recognised insurance qualification.

  • 10+ years of reinsurance underwriting in Financial Risks, primary experience would be a bonus.

  • Enthusiastic and forward-looking mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent team player with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, in order to best deal with business partners and internal stakeholders.

  • Technical, analytical and result oriented mind.

  • Proficient and effective knowledge of MS-Office products, especially Excel.

  • Language skills: very good command of English and Chinese is a prerequisite for the purpose of liaising with counterparts in US Headquarters and clients in China. Additional language(s) would be an advantage.
