Role Purpose:
We are looking for an experienced Credit & Political Risk (CPR) Underwriter to launch and develop a Continental Europe (CE) Underwriting Hub in Paris for CPR. This new product will enrich our existing offering in the region and optimize our cross-selling opportunities with our existing clients.
With a very entrepreneurial mindset and great business development skills, the future Head of CPR will deploy in France and CE our CPR products and will promote our expertise to brokers and clients, whilst working in close partnership with international colleagues.
Core Responsibilities:

Launch and develop a Credit and Political Risk (CPR) Paris Hub in accordance with Line of Business (LOB) and Everest Insurance business plans

Externally promote Everest Europe and Everest CPR to broking houses and clients, creating a network of brokers and clients in Continental Europe (CE) to complement CPR’s existing relationships and book of business

Support CE brokers and clients on transactions in appetite and review and develop new opportunities within the CE market

Maintain a focus on bottom line underwriting profit for the company

Underwrite in compliance with Everest prescribed underwriting standards and authorities

Monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation and compliance

Liaise with the Claims Manager and International CPR Head on any claims related issues and to participate in account and management reviews

Contribute to the regular analysis and review of underwriting practices and procedures

Participate in the underwriting peer review process at the weekly underwriting meetings

Assist in the improvement of Everest CPR’s management information systems, rating models, underwriting manuals, service standards, marketing materials, website and risk management and claims functions, particularly as they pertain to CE
Candidate Profile:
Professional Experience:
-
Solid market and product experience – 5+ years in Credit and Political risk, or equivalent market, and strong knowledge of relevant asset classes and structured finance

Judgement and decision-making skills – ability to use logic rationality and objectivity in decision making

Risk taking – ability to take calculated risks with favourable outcomes. Excellent negotiation skills

Compliance – ability to ensure compliance with all internal and external management and regulatory controls

Ability to maintain and develop market knowledge including competitor profiles and products

Relationship building – ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships both internally and externally
Skills & Abilities:

Language Skills: fluent French and English; Spanish also desirable
