As Head of Credit DACH, you have overall responsibility for the Credit department of the DACH region. You organize, manage and optimize risk management and credit underwriting processes, based on delegated authorities and in line with our credit strategy and regional objectives.

Key responsibilities (Day to day):

  • Lead the DACH Credit Department (three teams), providing professional and disciplinary leadership, including coaching and development.
  • Review and approve credit applications and reviews within your authority, from standardized cases to complex, large-scale transactions.
  • Balance commercial opportunities with the company’s risk appetite by assessing business risks, financed assets and contractual structures and defining risk mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration with senior decision-makers, risk committees, sales leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Implement policies, guidelines and operational workflows, and ensure effective systems, models, processes, controls and training within Credit.
  • Monitor portfolio risk performance in DACH, prepare analyses and reports and proactively complete risk assessments.
  • Propose and discuss risk appetite, execute the business strategy within underwriting criteria and act as a key link between Sales and Credit for structuring larger deals.

You directly drive implementation of the company’s risk strategy in DACH and influence:

  • Portfolio quality and risk performance, including early default and acceptance rates.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration between Sales, Credit and Risk.
  • Leadership culture and performance within the Credit Department.

Success indicators include well‑structured and timely credit decisions, adherence to group risk policies, turnaround time targets, underwriting quality and positive stakeholder feedback.

Essentials:

Experience & expertise

  • Academic background
  • Extensive experience in underwriting and analysing term credit transactions in banking or asset finance, including more complex and structured deals.
  • Several years in asset finance and/or bank credit operations and proven collaboration with Sales on deal structuring and risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a comparable role with professional and disciplinary responsibility for teams.
  • Strong business administration and industry knowledge; asset expertise in relevant sectors is an advantage.

  • English language skills at professional level
  • Structured, organized approach; comfortable in complex environments with multiple deadlines.
