This role leads the Personal Lines (Plines) Product and Proposition Development, Management and Product Delivery functions for Consumer General Insurance, covering products such as Travel, Personal Accident, Home, Foreign Domestic Worker, Pet, Golfer and other consumer insurance solutions.

The incumbent is accountable for:

  1. delivering market leading product and proposition offerings that will support the Plines portfolio financial growth, market prominence and
  2. ensuring products continue to meet the evolving and varying customer needs while supporting organisational priorities and distribution objectives.

The role works closely with many stakeholders across the business to translate strategic priorities into product and portfolio outcomes, delivering customer value and sustainable business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Consumer GI Product and Proposition Leadership

  • Own the Personal Lines portfolio and its strategic direction, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Define and drive the Personal Lines product roadmap, balancing market opportunities, business priorities, customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Accountable for product performance, portfolio outcomes and the successful delivery of growth and transformation initiatives.
  • Own the development and evolution of customer propositions across the Personal Lines portfolio.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and take appropriate actions to improve competitiveness, customer value and business outcomes.
  • Leverage market insights, customer feedback and competitor analysis to inform portfolio strategy and prioritisation.
  • Provide oversight and business input into selected Motor product development initiatives and enhancements.
  • Represent the Personal Lines portfolio in senior management discussions and strategic decision-making forums.
  • As required, represent the organisations proactive and reactive interaction with the media

Business Performance & Growth

  • Partner closely with various Distribution team leads, Actuarial, Marketing and Finance teams to maximise portfolio performance and value creation.
  • Ensure product strategies and propositions support distribution effectiveness and business objectives across all channels.
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio expansion, product innovation and proposition enhancement.
  • Contribute to business planning activities and portfolio performance reviews.
  • Develop recommendations and action plans to improve product and portfolio outcomes.

End-to-end Product Delivery

  • Lead the Product Management and Product Delivery teams to ensure successful execution of the Personal Lines roadmap.
  • Oversee the development, enhancement and lifecycle management of Personal Lines products.
  • Drive implementation of product launches, product enhancements, regulatory changes and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure robust and effective product governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Improve processes, capabilities and ways of working to enhance delivery effectiveness and speed to market.
  • Lead transformation initiatives that strengthen customer, operational and business outcomes.
  • Drive collaboration across Product, Distribution, Actuarial, Operations, Claims, Technology and other stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build effective partnerships across relevant business and support functions to deliver sustainable portfolio outcomes.
  • As required, work closely with reinsurers, service providers, strategic partners and industry bodies to support portfolio objectives.
  • Act as a key contact for product-related matters with regulators and industry associations where appropriate.
  • Represent the Company at industry forums, conferences, partner engagements and media opportunities relating to Consumer GI products.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop Product Management and Product Delivery team members.
  • Build organisational capability in product management, product delivery and portfolio management.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, Insurance or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in General Insurance, with significant exposure to Personal Lines product management, portfolio management, underwriting, actuarial or related commercial roles.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing insurance products, including product strategy, proposition development and portfolio management.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering complex product, regulatory or business transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of the Singapore General Insurance market, including consumer products, distribution models, competitive landscape and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience engaging with regulators, industry bodies and external stakeholders, including MAS, GIA, reinsurers and business partners.
  • Prior people management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.

Skills Required

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, Insurance, or a related discipline
