Our brands, Collecting Cars and Watch Collecting, are already leading the pack, but we're just getting started. We're expanding globally and we're looking for a Head of Australia & New Zealand to join us in our Sydney office.

The Mission:

The Head of Australia & New Zealand role is responsible for driving sustained regional growth and ensuring the seamless operation of The Collecting Group across Australia and New Zealand  throughout the full auction lifecycle.

Your role is to maximise revenue velocity across Australia and New Zealand by bridging the gap between high-impact marketing and strategic business development. You will be responsible for building the playbooks that align product value with market demand, ensuring our local teams are equipped to identify new opportunities, close high-value partnerships, and hit ambitious growth targets.

This role requires a rare blend of strategic thinking and market intelligence. You must be equally comfortable driving regional strategy as you are installing discipline in weekly operating rhythms, optimising our use of data and Salesforce, raising the talent bar, and providing solutions in a challenging fast moving market.

The Gearbox:

  • Identify and act on opportunities to strengthen the company's market position, keeping a close eye on the competitive landscape and emerging trends.
  • Build and maintain a curated list of high-value customers and ensure dealer relationships are proactively managed.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for sustainable, high-growth expansion across all of Australasia.
  • Design and implement comprehensive annual marketing plans that align with broader commercial goals, ensuring all initiatives have clear KPIs and ROI tracking
  • Provide strategic input on marketing initiatives to ensure the region's activity is aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Conduct continuous research into industry trends, competitor movements, and emerging markets to identify opportunities for service or product expansion
  • Leverage AI-driven insights and market intelligence to understand competitor strategies, predict consignment trends, and ensure Collecting Cars' long-term competitive advantage.
  • Forge and manage high level strategic partnerships with storage companies, detailers, specialist dealer networks, car clubs, and tech adjacent brands.
  • Mentor and scale a high performing teams 
  • Lead recruitment efforts to ensure the team scales in line with business growth and market demand.
  • Utilise sales analytics and BI tools to refine regional tactics to maximise profitability and market share.
  • Master and optimise the entire sales technology stack (Salesforce, internal analytics tools)
  • Act as a senior brand ambassador within the Australasia  collector community, representing Collecting Cars at premier automotive events, concours, and rallies.
  • Build and nurture relationships with  strategic partners, acting as the ultimate point of escalation for high value, complex deals.
  • Conduct reviews with the website operations and copywriting teams to ensure auction quality and accuracy.
  • Review and manage key performance metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Monitor and respond to consumer review platforms to maintain the company's reputation in the region.

  • Outstanding organisational and leadership skills and experience of training and supervising new staff both face to face and in other jurisdictions.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
  • Keen interest in cars of all genres and eras.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of how the collector car market operates.
  • Experience in leading campaigns across similar regions.
  • Having a demonstrable network of existing contacts/customers.
  • Impeccable communication skills with the ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively.
  • A proven track record of business development and growth in previous roles.
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced rapidly growing business.
  • A degree or similar qualification in a complementary practice area such as business management or marketing is desirable. Alternatively, demonstrable experience in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications as well as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software such as Salesforce and exposure to AI tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
