Overview
Value Added Services (VAS) is one of three growth strategies for Visa globally, aimed at diversifying Visa’s revenue with products and solutions that differentiate its network and deliver valuable solutions across other networks. IPVMC (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia) VAS team is the newly created function that reporting into the IPVMC Group Country Manager and the Head of AP VAS. All Product VAS and associated capabilities/services will report into the functions’ 3 units: Sales, Solution, and Technical Enablement.

Acceptance Sales will lead the sales of seller-side solutions suite offered by Visa. The solution serves over 450,000 online merchants, including many leading global brands as well as a broad base of small to mid-sized accounts. Approximately 1 out of every 7 dollars spent online Globally is processed through Visa Acceptance Platform (VAP), and we are growing worldwide. VAP is the payment management service leader, combining a comprehensive suite of global payment options with sophisticated fraud and security management, delivered in a software-as-a-service model.

What does the Head of Acceptance Sales IPVMC role entail:

The Senior Director, Head of Acceptance Sales IPVMC, is an integral part of IPVMC VAS team and is responsible for accelerating the sales expansion of Visa Acceptance Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and sustaining a strong sales pipeline and effectively driving VAS revenue growth for Visa. This role will be based locally in one of the IPVMC markets.

This position will report into Head of Acceptance Solutions, Sales AP, and interact with cross-functional teams in a global environment. Key stakeholders include Account Relationship Managers, Sales, Product Managers, Product Development, Marketing, Customer Service, and Client Project Leads. The ideal candidate is a seasoned sales leader who is motivated self-starter with leadership and management qualities that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. He or she must be a fast learner who can quickly absorb the nuances of complex, varied payment offerings. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coalesce with Visa’s cross-functional leadership team in IPVMC and AP to develop Visa IPVMC’s Acceptance Sales strategy
  • Create new sales and revenue generating opportunities as appropriate
  • Expand existing relationships/partnerships through the selling of Visa Acceptance Solutions
  • Utilize a consultative sales approach that ensures that the client’s business objectives are met and that the performance metrics of their payment portfolios are maximized
  • Continuously review payment landscape and recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to grow Visa’s Acceptance business
  • Assist marketing and product development in launching new products or expanding the penetration of existing products within current and new accounts
  • Provide operational or technical leadership within sales
  • Ensure implementation of annual goals and plans
  • Foster productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all Visa products and services, with particular focus on Acceptance Solutions

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Degree in any relevant discipline
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in payments, e-commerce, fintech, and/or technology-enabled commerce businesses in a solution-selling environment.
  • Experience driving merchant, acquiring, or payment solutions with a deep understanding of the payments industry and IPVMC market landscape. Relationships across key players in the cluster are valuable. Understanding of government and regulatory environments is an asset.
  • 15+ years of business development and/or solutions leadership experience, leading teams through disruptive growth.
  • Experience developing and tracking client-centric strategies within a matrixed organization.
  • Outstanding open communication and collaboration: actively promote inclusion and diversity of thought, proactively limit or mitigate unconscious biases, honest and direct communication.
  • Innovation-driven: up-to-date with latest payments trends; champions bold ideas and new ways of doing things; asks challenging and stretching questions.
  • Solution-focused: connects the dots and leverages Visa best practices, makes timely decisions in ambiguous, high-pressure situations, quick to adjust/recover and reset priorities.
  • Strategic, hands-on leader with curiosity and results orientation. Experience developing and executing strategic business plans.
  • Multinational experience and willingness to travel. Flexibility, cultural adaptability, and ability to navigate complexity are required to succeed in a matrixed environment managing varied stakeholders. The role requires the ability to work across cultures and industries.
