About TinyFish
TinyFish is the production web layer that lets AI agents search, read, extract, authenticate, and act on the live web. We are a Series A startup building the infrastructure layer for the agentic web. Our marketing team is small and fast-moving, and this role works directly with our SEO/GEO Manager.
The Role
This is a full-time, paid internship position that requires working from the office. You will own our in-house off-page, distribution, and technical SEO operations — the work that grows TinyFish's non-branded organic reach — and support SEO/GEO research alongside the Manager.
This is a hands-on operating role, not a strategy-only one. You'll run recurring channels week over week, keep our technical foundation clean, and feed research that shapes what we build next. It's a full-time internship on a defined track to convert to a full-time role after 6 months based on performance.
GEO note: Throughout this JD, "GEO" refers to Generative Engine Optimization — optimizing so that AI assistants and LLMs (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, AI Overviews, etc.) surface and cite our content. As a company building for AI agents, getting discovered by AI is a first-class goal here, not an afterthought.
What Success Looks LikeWe'd rather tell you what "great" looks like than just list tasks.
By the end of month 3, you will have:
Taken full ownership of our content syndication and distribution channels, running them on a predictable cadence
Stood up a reliable backlink and AI-visibility tracking routine the Manager can trust without re-checking
Completed at least one full technical SEO audit cycle and shipped fixes (or queued them with the dev team)
By the end of month 6 (conversion review), success means:
A measurable lift in non-branded organic reach and referring-domain quality
Demonstrable AI/LLM visibility for priority topics (citations, mentions, or AI-referral traffic trending up)
A clean, monitored technical baseline: structured data valid, indexation healthy, no unresolved crawl blockers
You operating channels independently, with the Manager reviewing direction rather than execution
Syndicate and repurpose our content across Medium, Substack, dev.to, Hacker News, and relevant subreddits — adapting format and framing per platform rather than copy-pasting
Manage directory and listing submissions (product directories, AI/agent tool listings, developer catalogs)
Track and monitor backlinks — new links, lost links, link quality — and flag opportunities and risks
Repurpose existing assets for both organic search and AI discovery
Support strategic link-building and proactive brand-mention campaigns
Run recurring technical audits (crawl errors, broken links, redirects, site architecture)
Implement and verify structured data / schema (JSON-LD) across page types
Maintain and QA metadata at scale
Check client-side rendering and indexation across the site and escalate issues
Partner with the dev/web team to scope and verify fixes
Query, keyword, and competitor research to inform what we publish and optimize
Pattern validation for programmatic SEO at the research stage — testing whether a template/page pattern is worth building before we invest
AI-visibility tracking: monitor how TinyFish appears in LLM answers and identify optimization opportunities
Improve already-indexed posts for both traditional search ranking and AI retrieval (refreshing content, internal links, metadata, and semantic structure)
How off-page and technical SEO actually move non-branded organic growth for a technical B2B product
GEO/AEO in practice — structuring and marking up content so LLMs and AI assistants surface and cite it
Hands-on fluency with Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/Semrush, Screaming Frog, and GEO-tracking tools
How to run technical audits, schema implementation, and dev-team collaboration end to end
How emerging metrics like AI referrals and chatbot/LLM impressions sit alongside classic SEO KPIs
The inner workings of a Series A go-to-market motion in the AI-agent / developer-tools space
Foundational SEO — solid on-page plus basic technical, and a working understanding of how off-page and links function. 0–2 years, or self-taught with a portfolio we can look at.
Strong written and verbal English — you'll write for public platforms and coordinate with the dev team.
Detail-oriented and disciplined — genuinely comfortable owning recurring operational work and keeping it consistent.
Comfortable with spreadsheets and data, and either know or are eager to learn GSC, GA4, Ahrefs/Semrush, and GEO-tracking tools.
Genuine curiosity about AI agents and developer tools — we're a technical product, and the best work here comes from people who find that interesting.
Available full-time for the duration of the internship.
A note on fit: This role rewards people who like owning channels and getting things done over people who want a comfortable, low-ownership seat. If recurring operational discipline and "ship it, then improve it" energize you, you'll thrive here.
Nice-to-HaveHands-on directory submission or content syndication experience
Working knowledge of HTML, schema/JSON-LD, and rendering concepts
Prior exposure to GEO/AEO
Familiarity with developer/AI communities (dev.to, Hacker News, dev-focused subreddits)
Familiarity with user-centric optimization, PostHog and A/B testing tools for conversion rate optimization
Comfort building lightweight automations/workflows (e.g. n8n) to scale repetitive SEO tasks
Ownership of real channels from week one — not shadowing, not slide decks
Direct mentorship from the SEO/GEO Manager and exposure to a Series A GTM team
A clear, performance-based path to a full-time role after 6 months
