(1) Process Monitoring & Troubleshooting
  • Monitor Tape & Reel process conditions
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues such as:
    • Machine alarms / jams
    • Yield excursions / defect abnormalities
  • Coordinate with equipment teams for machine troubleshooting and maintenance support
  • Hold Lot & Lot Disposition Management
    • Review and execute disposition of abnormal lots, including:
      • Hold lot release and evaluation
      • Reel-to-Reel (RTR) rework decisions
      • Scrap / de-scrap actions
    • Ensure all decisions comply with quality standards and traceability requirements

HBM Tape and Reel Shift Process Skill Request
Skill Focus: AOI Recipe Fine Tune / Optimization
    Request Summary
Shift Process team members are requested to develop and strengthen AOI recipe fine-tuning and optimization capability for the HBM Tape and Reel process. This skill is required to improve defect detection accuracy, reduce false calls, support abnormal lot disposition, and enable faster shift-level response to AOI-related process issues.
    Required Skill Scope
    • Understand AOI inspection logic, defect classification, and key recipe parameters.
    • Perform basic AOI recipe fine tuning based on real defect images, false call patterns, and escape risk.
    • Optimize AOI sensitivity to balance defect capture rate and false reject reduction.
    • Support recipe comparison before and after parameter adjustment.
    • Identify common HBM TnR AOI defects such as tape residue, contamination, placement abnormality, package orientation issue, mark/label abnormality, and visual defect.
    • Work with Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to validate AOI recipe changes.
    • Document recipe adjustment rationale, validation result, and risk assessment.
    • Support shift response for AOI abnormality, lot hold review, and production recovery.

    Expected Capability
After training and practice, shift process members should be able to:
Review AOI reject images and classify true defect vs false call.
Identify which AOI recipe parameter may need optimization.
Perform controlled recipe fine tune under engineer guidance.
Validate recipe change impact using sample lots or golden units.
Summarize optimization results with before/after defect rate, false call rate, and risk notes.
Escalate high-risk recipe changes when defect escape risk or customer quality impact is involved.
    Business Justification
AOI recipe fine-tuning capability is important for HBM Tape and Reel shift process coverage because AOI directly impacts outgoing quality control, production efficiency, and lot disposition speed. Strengthening this skill will help reduce unnecessary lot holds caused by false calls, improve abnormal response time, and enhance defect detection stability across shifts. It also supports better alignment between shift process, engineering, equipment, and manufacturing teams during high-volume HBM production.
