Hardware Verification Engineer
Location: Solon, OH
Purpose of Position
Tektronix is seeking an entry-level Hardware Verification Engineer to join our team and support the testing of our Precision DC test and measurement equipment. This role is ideal for a curious, detail-oriented engineer early in their career who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. You’ll work closely with hardware, software, applications, manufacturing, and quality teams to help ensure our products meet functional, performance, and system-level validation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop test procedures and associated documentation, with guidance from senior engineers, to validate hardware requirements.
Execute test procedures, document results, and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with design and sustainment engineering teams.
Write automated test programs to improve test efficiency and coverage.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand testing requirements and dependencies, develop test schedules, provide status updates, and communicate final results.
Design and build test fixtures used in hardware validation.
Maintain and organize test equipment, fixtures, and supporting hardware.
Utilize appropriate tools, equipment, and environments to perform validation activities.
Continuously learn and apply best practices in test, automation, and validation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Education/ practical experience).
Basic understanding of electronic hardware concepts (analog and digital).
Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (e.g., multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes).
Introductory programming skills (e.g., Python, C++, C, C#, or similar) with interest in automation.
Familiarity with Excel for data analysis.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Good organizational and communication skills, including the ability to document technical work.
Preferred Qualifications
Internship or academic project experience related to hardware validation or testing.
Exposure to automated testing or scripting.
Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis.
Experience working in lab environments.
Working knowledge of source control tools (e.g., Git).
Exposure to VB.NET.
Experience creating wiring diagrams for basic test setups.
Basic understanding of PCB design and EDA tools.
