About the Role
- The HW Project Leader (HW PL) is member of a global HW development team to realize automotive IVI and telematics systems. She/he leads the HW development for OEM customer projects, coordinates all HW-related tasks acc. Harman BMS process and guidelines of Hardware Development or/and acts as a representative and assistance of the HW Project Manager
- She/he will be embedded in the Telematics Development Team inside the SBU Connectivity, reporting to the Team Leader HW Engineering or/and to Director Hardware Engineering.
What You Will Do
- Technical lead hardware development projects in the field of automotive infotainment (optional: with safety criteria)
- which includes the technical lead of the local HW project team, steering of the project team in remote locations (Bucharest, Shanghai) in close cooperation to the local managers
- and acts as the customer interface for Hardware topics - Representative of Hardware Project Manager (HW PM) in internal and external meetings (customer, suppliers)
- Assistance/Support of HW PM in the conception, the commercial evaluation and the provision of technical specifications, documentation and presentation material for Telematics- and Connectivity function blocks and products
- Support in the realization of the Hardware Development Process acc. Harman BMS and guidelines of SBU Hardware Development
- Support/Perform Requirement Engineering (Doors, DNG, ALM), Change Management, documentation, DFMEA, … under Harman Tools
- Perform the analysis, evaluation and feasibility of customer requirements and special OEM specifications for RFC, RFI, RFQ and CRs, BOM estimates and calculation, effort estimation and technical support for risk management
- Perform the analysis of cost-down measures to achieve HW BOM targets
- Realization of system designs, schematics and/or schematics integration of hardware applications and functional blocks / modules for In-Vehicle Infotainment Systems in the range of simple to medium complexity under consideration of Harman guidelines during the complete development process
- Global cooperation with other departments as Construction, Quality, Manufacturing and Software during the development process
- Maintenance support
- Technical support for internal and/or external staff in the industrialization of functional items in an international environment (e.g. ODM, EMS suppliers)
- Analysis of the customer specification, generation of related work packages (design and verification) and performing design reviews for each development stage
- Collect, analyze and prepare all relevant project data for the project status and report project status to management level
- Execution of special projects on behalf of the disciplinary superior
What You Need
- Minimum of bachelor degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or appropriate graduation)
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the HW development, verification and industrialization of In-vehicle Infotainment systems or other automotive ECUs of similar complexity level
- Experience in the project management
- Experience in technical lead of HW team
- Knowledge of tools for schematic/layout realization and simulation (e.g. Mentor Graphics, SPICE, …) as well as Microsoft applications
- Structured and result-oriented working style
- Ability of teamwork with internal/external teams
- Good knowledge in spoken and written English
Beneficial Qualifications
- Experience in the development of analogue, digital and RF designs, especially in wireless applications (e.g., mobile network technologies) and/or telematics systems
- Experience in requirements management (e.g. DOORS, DNG, ALM) beneficial
- Knowledge in spoken and written German
Eligibility Requirements
- Willingness to travel within German & international on demand (around 10-25%)
