As a Lead Hardware Engineer in our Systems Engineering group, you will be responsible for delivering systems and sub-assemblies, taking them from concept to production. These hardware designs incorporate high-speed optical and electrical I/O, processing and management components and will require careful consideration of power, cooling, reliability and overall cost.
Your responsibilities will span from hardware definition to design, qualification and product release. To deliver these systems, you will need to drive co-development with our ODM partner, ensuring designs are executed to spec, on schedule, and at the quality level required for hyperscale products. This is an exciting, hands-on design position that will require your creativity and attention to detail.
You will be the Lead Engineer for the Taiwan team; which includes, the Mechanical Engineer and Packaging Engineer, as well as, your role as Hardware Engineer. As the Lead, you will interfacing with teams around the world primarily in the Silicon Valley (Saratoga, CA; Eridu HQ), our Bangalore office, or other sites as they come online.
Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally to turn high-level concepts into detailed Hardware Specifications
- Develop technology de-risk plans through supplier eval boards and early prototypes.
- Apply high-speed design practices, including signal and power integrity analysis, to ensure robust designs
- Work with our partners through schematic entry, layout and manufacturability reviews
- Lead or participate in build reviews holding ODM accountable to quality, cost, and schedule commitments
- Drive hardware bring-up, signal-integrity and power-integrity validation plans
- Drive hardware qualification test plans and testing including EDVT, MDVT, EMI/EMC & Safety
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for issues found during bring-up, qualification, or manufacturing
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar technical degree
- Minimum of 10 years experience in system-level development within the server, computer, or networking industries.
- 5 years as a lead or manager in a technology driven product company
- Demonstrated experience working with ODM/CM (contract manufacturer) design teams through the full development and production lifecycle
- A solid understanding of high-speed design and signal & power integrity considerations
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Experienced lead whether formally or informally within cross-functional team
- Experience designing systems with standards-based optical interfaces (eg QSFP, OSFP)
- Proficiency in high-speed technologies including Ethernet & PCIe
- Proficiency in control interfaces such as MDIO, SPI, I2C, JTAG.
- Good understanding of FPGA design, Power circuits, Clocking
- Good understanding of Mechanical/Thermal considerations
- Outstanding knowledge of hardware design process and design practices, derived from a track record of delivering shipped products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The starting base salary for the selected candidate will be established based on their relevant skills, experience, qualifications, work location, market trends, and the compensation of employees in comparable roles.
