Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise and Materials and Process support for Honeywell Aerospace product.  Work as part of a highly engaged and integrated Materials Engineering team. You will collaborate across Honeywell Aerospace engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will participate in all phases of product development and will be a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers.
Based in Taiwan, this Materials Engineering position will provide support for new and existing products including aerospace gas turbine engines used for propulsion and auxiliary power, with a primary focus on metallurgy and metallurgical process (casting, forging, heat treating, welding, etc). Primary responsibilities include support for materials and processes involved in the design and manufacture of metallic parts. This position will also work with suppliers in Taiwan and the APAC Region and will serve as a liaison between regional suppliers and Honeywell Aerospace. May occasionally need to lift 35 pounds single lift. 


Approximately 25% travel
 

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelors' Degree with in STEM 
  • 4+ years of experience in materials/process engineering
  • 4+ years experience working with aerospace materials (aluminum, steel, titanium and nickel) 

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor’s Degree with specialization in Materials Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Advanced degree in engineering or another related field a plus
  • Understanding and hands-on experience in casting, forging, heat treating, welding, or other metallurgical manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with industrial materials and processing specifications
  • Familiarity with Nadcap and industry standards, requirements and approvals
  • Capable of assessing new suppliers and determining their strengths and weaknesses
  • Experience with conducting supplier audits 
  • Working with and developing suppliers
  • Experience troubleshooting material and process issues, and providing technical solutions for rapid problem solving
  • Liaison work between suppliers and Honeywell Engineering, Quality, Supplier Development Engineers (SDE), and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC).
  • Working with Design Engineering 
  • Understanding engineering drawings and requirements
  • Experience in Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement tools
  • Experience with simulation tools like DEFORM, ProCast, Thermocalc, etc. 

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM
  • 4+ years of experience in materials or process engineering
  • 4+ years of experience working with aerospace materials, including aluminum, steel, titanium, and nickel
  • Bachelor's degree specializing in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Advanced degree in engineering or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with casting, forging, heat treating, welding, or other metallurgical manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with industrial materials and processing specifications
