About Ubiquiti

At Ubiquiti Inc., we create technology platforms for Businesses, Smart Homes, and Internet Service Providers, driven by our goal to connect everyone, everywhere. To date, Ubiquiti has shipped over 100 million devices worldwide, from ISP networking products to next generation of IT solutions. Our growth is made possible by the dedicated team of hundreds behind the scenes. From software developers and product managers to designers and strategists, Team UI is driven to achieve our common goal: Rethinking IT. At Ubiquiti, you’ll heighten your potential and broaden your horizons - all while shaping the future of connectivity.

Role Summary

This role is mainly working on the design and mass production of our IoT product lines.

You will own end-to-end hardware development — board-level design, low-power optimization, certification, and EMS/ODM coordination.

You will work with firmware, mechanical, QA, and PM teams, as well as manufacturing partners, to bring products from concept to volume production.

Responsibilities (What he/she will do after joining UI)

-AC-Side Power Electronics Design: Hands-on design of smart relays, light switches, dimmers, and smart plugs — including AC-DC power conversion (e.g., buck / flyback), live/neutral handling, isolation design, phase-cut / dimming control, and creepage / clearance compliance.

-Power IC Design & Review: Design and review PMIC, charger IC, and battery-protection circuits to ensure product safety and reliability.

Requirement (Must-Haves)

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.

- 10+ years of hands-on hardware design experience in consumer electronics or IoT products.

- Power-electronics / AC-side product design experience — a proven track record taking AC-powered products (smart relays, light switches, dimmers, or smart plugs) to mass production, including AC-DC conversion, live/neutral handling, isolation design, and creepage/clearance (safety) compliance.

- Hands-on EMC / ESD debug experience, with the ability to lead products through certification independently.

Preferred Qualifications

- Advanced Power Electronics: Deeper experience with switching topologies (buck / flyback / PFC), transformer & magnetics design, phase-cut / TRIAC dimming, and energy-metering ICs.

- PMIC / Charger IC / Protection: PMIC, charger IC, and battery-protection circuit design.

-Surge / Lightning / EMC for AC Products: Hands-on diagnosis of pre-compliance or certification failures on AC-side products (surge / EFT / ESD) — not just familiarity with the standards.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
  • 10+ years hardware design experience in consumer electronics or IoT.
  • Experience with battery-powered products (CR primary discharge and Li-ion).
  • Expertise in low-power design including µA-level current measurement and battery life estimation.
  • Proficiency in PMIC, charger IC, and battery protection circuit design.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one wireless protocol (BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, or Sub-GHz).
  • Hands-on EMC / ESD debug experience and ability to lead regulatory certification.
  • Practical experience collaborating with EMS/ODM factories for NPI, mass production ramp-up, and yield improvement.
  • Familiarity with IoT, lighting, or control-related designs and basic AC circuit understanding.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with firmware, mechanical, QA, and PM teams.
  • Hands-on AC-side product design (smart relays, light switches, dimmers, smart plugs) including isolation and creepage/clearance compliance.
  • Board-level design experience for tablets/smartphones (display interfaces, touch panels, battery systems).
  • Experience designing IoT sensors (PIR, door/window contact, temperature/humidity, motion detection).
  • Direct hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving ESD/Surge/EMC pre-compliance or certification failures.
  • RF & wireless IoT expertise including antenna placement, RF layout guidelines, and coexistence handling.
  • Practical experience managing NPI deliverables and technical issue resolution with manufacturing partners across EVT->DVT->PVT->MP.
