Job Description:
Standardized Patients (SPs) are individuals who provide a realistic patient experience for our medical student learners. One essential component of our SP program, are SPS that use their body as a teaching tool in the Gynecological (GYN) physical exam. The GYN exam is comprised of the following:

An inspection of the mons pubis, labia majora and minora, clitoris, urethral opening, and introitus for lesions or lumps.

A full speculum examination.

A bimanual examination.

A full breast examination.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
-
High school diploma/GED required and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Gynecological Teaching Associate (GTA) certification is preferred but not required.

Experience in education, or health care preferred but not required
-
Individuals who have not had any of their female organs removed (i.e., uterus, ovaries, cervix, breasts (lumpectomies excluded)).
