The role
ReUp Education is seeking skilled Senior Frontend Engineer, React, to build our next generation of responsive web apps enabling us to support institutions of higher learning and their millions of adult learners. This role will be a key member of the software engineering team creating and delivering new products to market.
As Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll work with a cross-functional team responsible for the full software development life cycle, from ideation to production release. This includes working with graphic designers and product managers who will define the specifications and features. You will be part of a team developing the features from top (frontend) to bottom (backend), ensuring the application is functional and responsive. You should have expert-level experience with frontend coding languages, frameworks, tools, and third-party libraries.

What you'll do
As our Senior Frontend React Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Working with architects, developers, designers, and product managers to create software solutions.
- Participate in the technical, data modeling, and architectural decisions for the frontend of a cloud-based web application.
- Participate in the development of frontend components based on UI design specifications.
- Participate in the development of backend APIs used by the frontend.
- Test software for bugs, responsiveness, performance, and security vulnerabilities.
- Develop clean, reusable, and documented code and troubleshoot, debug, and update code to fix issues.

As a Senior Frontend React Engineer, you'll bring a deep understanding of both frontend and backend development to our team. We're looking for a seasoned professional with:
- 5+ years of experience building SaaS web applications.
- Strong proficiency in frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript) with expertise in frontend frameworks (primarily React and React components).
- Experience with backend technologies (Node.js, Python) and databases (SQL, NoSQL).
- Expertise in modern development practices, security, CI/CD, API development (RESTful, GraphQL), and cloud platforms, such as AWS.
- Agile (Scrum) experience.
- Test-driven development (TDD).
Nice to have
- Mobile app development.
- Experience in infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
- A history of mentoring junior engineers in frontend development with React.
- Experience developing a library of reusable React components used in multiple applications.

- Competitive salary of 155,000-170,000 USD annually (Austin, TX)

Location
This hybrid role will be based in Austin, TX. This role will be expected to work from the Austin office 2-3 days a week.
