As a Guidewire Cloud Migration Architect, you will lead the transformation of global insurance organizations onto the Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP). You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver sophisticated upgrade and migration strategies, ensuring architectural integrity, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
In this role, you will play a primary role in safeguarding delivery outcomes by proactively mitigating risks, resolving complex migration challenges, and establishing best practices across programs. You will play a critical leadership role in guiding cross-functional teams, elevating technical capabilities through mentorship, governance, and solution oversight.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor, translating business objectives into scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions.

  • Lead architecture workshops, integration design sessions, and solution walkthroughs with senior stakeholders.

  • Influence enterprise technology strategy and Guidewire Cloud adoption roadmaps.

  • Partner with business teams to define future-state architectures aligned with digital transformation initiatives.

  • Lead end-to-end architecture for on-premise to Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) migrations.

  • Define scalable, resilient, and compliant technical designs aligned with Guidewire Cloud standards.

  • Drive adoption of Advanced Product Designer (APD) for modern product configuration.

  • Oversee architecture and delivery across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter, including product model design, underwriting architecture, rating engine configuration, and workflow optimization.

  • Design and lead API-first, cloud-native integration strategies.

  • Architect RESTful APIs, asynchronous integrations, messaging patterns, and Integration Gateway configurations.

  • Lead integrations with external systems, including billing, claims, third-party data providers, document management, and rating services.
    Ensure adherence to Guidewire Cloud best practices, including API patterns, security models, authentication, and authorization frameworks.

  • Establish integration governance, standards, and reusable solution frameworks.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable cloud solutions.

  • Mentor developers and integration engineers on Guidewire Cloud capabilities and modern integration patterns.

Technical & Functional Consultant skills:

  • Guidewire Expertise: Deep proficiency across PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter, with a strong understanding of Guidewire Cloud standards and release cycles.

  • Programming & Development: Hands-on expertise in Gosu and Java, with solid experience working with XML, JSON, and GUnit testing frameworks.

  • Insurance Domain Knowledge: Strong functional understanding of the policy lifecycle, underwriting workflows, and First Notice of Loss (FNOL) processes.
    Cloud & Integration Architecture: Extensive experience designing and implementing Cloud APIs, REST/SOAP services, asynchronous integrations, messaging patterns, and Integration Gateway solutions.

  • Product Configuration & Design: Strong hands-on experience with Advanced Product Designer (APD) / PolicyCenter configuration, and product model architecture.

  • API & Architectural Patterns: Proficiency in RESTful API design, API frameworks, and event-driven architecture principles.

  • Cloud & DevOps Practices: Well-versed in cloud deployment models and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Git.

  • Security & Best Practices: Strong knowledge of modern security protocols, including OAuth2, JWT, and API security best practices.

  • Tools & Quality Engineering: Experience with Guidewire Hub and code quality / governance tools 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years of proven hands-on experience with Guidewire Cloud implementation  (minimum 1 upgrade experience as a senior consultant/ lead developer)

  • Experience resolving Cloud Assurance issues and aligning with cloud deployment constraints

  • Strong familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket, Teamcity, Datadog) and release automation practices

  • Cross-application experience with PolicyCenter and/or ClaimCenter

  • Strong experience designing and implementing cloud integrations in Guidewire Cloud environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

  • Certifications

    • Guidewire Cloud Configuration Associate Certification (Preferred in any of XCenters)

    • Guidewire Cloud Integration ACE Certification (required)

    • Additional Cloud certifications are a plus.
