You know the product better than the people selling it. You've sat in on a demo and winced, watched someone read slides to a buyer who wanted to go three levels deeper, and couldn't. You've thought, more than once, I could do this better.
This is that role.
5D is building the AI platform that powers every real asset decision. Our buyers are sophisticated and skeptical, they run billion-dollar calls on Excel and PDFs today, and they don't want to be sold to. They want someone who can open the product, go off-script, and answer the hard question in the room. That person almost never comes from a classic sales background. They come from where you're sitting now.
Let's be straight about what this is: a closing role. You'll own the full sales cycle and carry a number. You may never have carried a quota before. That's the point: we're betting that someone who gets the product, thinks in systems, and is hungry to learn the close beats a polished rep who can't go deep. We'll invest in turning you into that closer. If "quota" makes you flinch, sit with it, but if it makes you curious about what you could do when the demo finally isn't being butchered, keep reading.
What you'll doOwn and close complex enterprise deals end to end — discovery, live product, the deep technical questions.
Build a self-generated pipeline and the replicable playbook that future hires run on
Design your own sales methodology and the tracking to prove it, you'll test and iterate weekly, not quarterly.
Partner with Product, Solutions, and Engineering to shape the roadmap from what you hear on the frontline.
Contribute to pricing, packaging, and how we take this to market, you're early enough to shape it!
There's no checklist here, and we're not screening for years of sales or a particular CV. What we're actually looking for is a disposition:
You engage with software like an engineer would. You explore it, ask the hard questions, demo it live
You think in systems and efficiency, and you see a process and ask "how do I make this 3x better?"
You've had commercial exposure, and found, maybe to your surprise, that you liked the room.
You're ready to trade the safety of a big base for equity and uncapped upside!
You're happy in-office 3x per week in midtown.
If you read all that and thought "but I'm not in sales", good. Neither were the best ones.
The honest version of the deal$130K–150K base salary
Uncapped commission (targeting a 50/50 OTE split)
Meaningful equity
2% company-sponsored 401(k) contributions
Healthcare, dental, life insurance
Unlimited PTO
$100/month wellbeing budget
$1,000 annual training budget
14 weeks paid parental leave (primary) / 6 weeks (secondary)
It's likely a step down on guaranteed cash from where you are, and a step up on ownership and ceiling. We'll talk about that openly, early so there are no surprises at offer.
