Flutterwave was founded on the principle that every African must be able to participate and  thrive in the global economy. To achieve this objective, we have built a trusted payment  infrastructure that allows consumers and businesses (African and International) make and  receive payments in a convenient borderless manner.

The Role

Flutterwave is hiring a Growth Marketer. This role will be responsible for driving on-ground growth and brand expansion for Send App within Nigeria, building a vibrant local ecosystem that fuels both domestic adoption and diaspora transaction growth.

The Growth Marketer will lead grassroots user acquisition efforts, community engagement initiatives, in-market partnerships, and structured consumer feedback loops that directly inform product development.

This is a highly execution-focused role. The ideal candidate is an operator who thrives in the field, builds strong community presence, activates partnerships, and scales localized growth playbooks similar to early-stage consumer fintech expansion strategies.

What You’ll Do:

Market Growth & User Acquisition

  • Develop and execute a Nigeria-first growth strategy focused on aggressive user acquisition and brand awareness.
  • Drive on-ground activations including community events, campus tours, market storms, trade clusters, and local ecosystem engagements.
  • Build scalable grassroots growth playbooks tailored to Nigeria’s diverse regions and demographics.
  • Own growth KPIs across active users, new user acquisition, transaction volume and local retention, driving them through a full 360 marketing approach spanning both above the line and below the line tactics.

Community and Ecosystem Engagement

  • Establish and grow strong community presence across key Nigerian cities and states.
  • Lead local engagement initiatives such as community roundtables, focus groups, and user listening sessions.
  • Build ambassador and community champion programs to deepen grassroots penetration.
  • Drive visibility at relevant fintech, SME, youth, and creator ecosystem events.

In-Market Partnerships

  • Identify, negotiate, and execute partnerships with Nigerian banks, fintechs, cooperatives, trade associations, community groups, and event organizers.
  • Build mutually beneficial partnerships that accelerate user acquisition and drive transaction growth.
  • Collaborate with enterprise and regional teams to align partnership strategy with broader Nigeria business objectives.

Brand Awareness & Positioning

  • Lead localized brand campaigns that resonate with Nigerian audiences across online and offline channels.
  • Work closely with Brand and Communications teams to ensure consistent, culturally relevant messaging.
  • Drive hyperlocal marketing experiments and scale high-performing acquisition channels.
  • Ensure strong visibility and presence across priority Nigerian cities and regions.

Consumer Insights & Product Feedback Loop

  • Design and lead structured consumer feedback mechanisms including focus groups, surveys, and community listening sessions.
  • Translate on-ground insights into actionable recommendations for Product and Growth teams.
  • Create a tight Nigeria-based customer → product → growth loop that improves product-market fit and user retention.
  • Continuously test, measure, and optimize local growth initiatives based on user data and insights.

Performance Tracking & Scaling

  • Own reporting for Nigeria growth metrics and provide regular insights to senior leadership.
  • Run rapid growth experiments and iterate based on performance data.
  • Build repeatable frameworks that can scale across additional Nigerian regions.
  • Support expansion initiatives that strengthen the two-sided ecosystem between Nigeria and the diaspora.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • 7+ years of experience in Growth Marketing, Field Marketing, Consumer Marketing, or Ecosystem Development within fintech, telecom, FMCG, or high-growth consumer technology environments.
  • Proven track record of driving aggressive user acquisition in Nigeria through on-ground and community-led strategies.
  • Strong experience building and executing grassroots growth campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop in-market partnerships that directly impact growth metrics.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience managing performance KPIs and running growth experiments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Brand, Finance, and Operations teams.
  • Deep understanding of Nigeria’s consumer landscape and regional market dynamics.
